Express gift card (how should I spend?)

I was given an Express gift card for Christmas. I'm on a clothes shopping freeze for awhile, so this gift card is like gold.
Some of you know my closet and know what I may be lacking.
I've considered getting a knit dress since summer will hit central Texas before we know it. I love how effortless they are and think it could be very versatile for me.
What do you think of this dress?

I was first attracted to the yellow, but I also think the black might be a good basic. The double layering is kind of intriguing.

I do need some pants for work, but losing even five pounds changes the fit of pants and I'm leery of buying something I could only wear for a few weeks.

PS: Why does it seem like gift cards are harder to spend than even my own cash?

Hi Sarah, that's a cute dress. My favorite color would actually be pink, I remember you recently looking incredible in a hot pink cardi. I would hold off the pants, considering that you are still losing weight, and get maybe some tops that wouldn't be affected by that.

Sarah: I have the buckle cuff shirt Tanya references and like it very much. Mine is cobalt blue (in fact, I wore it for our family Christmas photo), and I think that color would be absolutely stunning on you. Tops seem to be a bit more forgiving, size wise, when your weight is changing, don't you think? These have a lot of stretch so they are comfy, too.

I agree with Kyle that you'd prob look in cobalt, I was thinking the tank that Tanya linked above and I agree with Tanya that the pink color is great on you too. Are there any colors that you don't look good in?
When you mentioned black dress, I like that idea too. It's so easy. I also liked the scarf they paired with it. I saw the scarfs today on sale (I think they were two for the price of one).

I think the dress in pink is gorgeous and would be a great piece for spring summer. I also like the tank and ruffle hem cardi. I think either of those in bright colors would really work for you. Good luck with your purchases. Look forward to seeing what you get!

That's just such a cheerful dress, Sarah, every time I look at it, I start to smile. I think it will be such a fun dress to wear when it's hot.

Black is classic of course, but after seeing you in that pink cardigan a few weeks ago, I'm convinced the pink one would look gorgeous on you. But I really love the yellow as well.

By the way, Sarah: I know you mentioned a while ago that you were a bit nervous about how your family was going to react about your weight loss and your new look. I hope everything went well? I'm convinced they all think you look fabulous, because, well, you REALLY do!!!

Thank you Inge! Yes, my family definitely noticed the change. I was afraid that being all bundled up in winter clothing would hide my progress, but apparently it didn't! It was so encouraging and motivating that they could see my results and continued cheering me on.
I'm going to stop into Express tomorrow to try on everything mentioned here. If nothing doesn't speak to me, I'll just wait. I'll be sure to let you all know what happens.

Sarah, I am a little wary of the dress you posted. I had a dress kind of like that once. The underlayer was a little shorter than the overlayer. The the one you posted is like that, right? In any case, it never looked right to me. It kind of looked unintentional and thus awkward. I'd just be cautious of that.

I love the things Tayna posted. They seem very you.
