Expo, not quite a job fair, but not a party either - what to wear?

So, I ran an outfit by you all last week for a wine tasting at a casino. http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-at-casino Was all ready to wear it at this week's tasting (tonight) when I found out a different casino is hosting a job expo. It is part social mixer, part networking with booths set up and all. And, as always, we are in the mountains and not as dressy as other parts of the country might be for such a thing. I was thinking of taking the basic outfit and just switching out the jeans for black skinny jeans. Do you think that would be appropriate to the situation? The BF will wear a sportcoat over a button down dress shirt and dark wash jeans.

We also live in a very casual place and this seems like it would be good. I'm not sure about the bag style - and the jewelry is hard to see. Something sparkly and maybe a dressier bag?

So, maybe my gunmetal small crossbody bag (pic1) instead? I do have a set of more sparkly, dainty earrings/necklace (also in pic 1) ( close up in pic2). Should I leave off the mutli buckle belt or is it fine?

I think the outfit sounds good, probably with the gunmetal bag, just because I think it is a bit dressier and might work better with the black jeans. I think the belt is fine. Not sure you need to change the jewelry, either. I guess you will know how it all looks once you put it on.

Do you need to bring resumes? That might affect your bag choice - I like the outfit.

Not that serious as to be resume dropping, more of a social mixer, I'd say. I decided the gunmetal clutch was too 'party' for 5 in the evening paired with my silver shirt, so I stuck with the purple everyday bag. Also put on a normal jeans belt, since the combo of somewhat short shirt and skinny jeans that like to slide down meant I could use the extra anchoring!
Tried to get a close up of the necklace/earrings. Not that you see much earring with my hair Which isn't done in the pic, so ignore it lol. Off we go! I'll snap a pic of the BF and share later.

Well, we are back. And I was super happy with my choice of outfit. Several people I hadn't seen in 3 or more years, some over 10, and I felt great reacquainting dressed as I was. More than one person commented on how great I looked, which is always welcome of course. I wouldn't say it snagged me a job but I would say most people now know I am back in town
