I found a few fun things at H&M lately, where I don't usually shop, and am trying to figure out how to wear them Do any of these combinations work?

The pants in pictures 1-3 do not have belt loops and I'm a little worried about the belt slipping around when wearing it. Would it be totally boring without the belt?

The jacket in #2 is not as closely matched in color to the sweater as it appears. In fact, I think it clashes. It looks much better in the photo...strange.

I was a little iffy on wearing all black, so tried the top with grey pants. I'm not sure...maybe these grey pants should be tossed. I'm not liking how they look in pictures.

Thoughts?

I love 1,2 and 3!! The top drapes really well! The toppers make the look more sophisticated IMO.

I guess the grey pants do not fit you that well? Or may be wearing them a little lower might help? But the color combo looks great to me

My favourites are #1 and 2. To me the jacket in #2 makes you look taller and slimmer.

I love the look of the top and both jackets look good over it. I'm with you a little over the grey trousers. They are pretty good, but something does just seem a tad off that I can't put my finger on. I would like to see the grey ones with a different top to decide fully as it could just be that I prefer the top with black bottoms. As for the black trousers, why not pop a few loops on yourself with a little black velvet ribbon, or use a fabric scrap?

i like #3, but #1 and #2 are fab. i really like how the green blazer makes the shirt look more green and less black.
i'd like to see the grey pants pair with something else before deciding on keeping or tossing. it's hard to tell from the pictures, but it seems as of you have the belt pulled tight, are they too big in the waist?

I have found great pieces at H&M also and , like you, I never used to shop there!
My favorites are 1,2 and 3! Fabulous!

The grey trousers almost look like they are too big and then hiked up? Can you wear them lower to simulate a lower waist?

I love the top with the black trousers, and I think the blazer works.

Agree it works really well with the black trousers and the grey seem less good on you. #1 is my favorite.

1-3 look terrific. Not as crazy about the grey trouser versions. I agree that either they are not fitting properly or the rise is a bit high.

#1 looks great, Amy! Diane has a good idea re the belt loops. I agree with the others that the grey pants look as if they just are not fitting correctly.

The fit issue with the grey pants is my relatively narrow waist and wide hips. I couldn't. Wear these pants lower at all. The waistband wouldn't fit over my hips. I can't believe I'm saying this, but perhaps a lower rise would be better...

I love #2! The colors with the green blazer are so rich and lovely, and I think the overall silhouette is lovely too. Honestly I like all the combos with the black pants, so I don't think you can go wrong there.

I agree about the fit of the grey pants being off and the waist being too high. I totally sympathize - I often have a very similar problem with trousers (that darn high hip). I do prefer a lower rise and actually a straighter cut through the hips (but this means sizing up sometimes) and not excessively stretchy. In fact, that's why I tend to hate things billed as "curvy fit" even though they technically fit my shape better and I don't have to size up. I feel like curvy fits are all designed to sit at and emphasize the narrow waist so the overall rise just looks too high and curvy.

Amy - you look gorgeous in outfits 1 - 3. That drapey green top is stunning on you and I like it with both jackets.

I'm afraid I do agree with the others that the fit of the grey pants isn't the best. Like Diana, I deliberately avoid pants tagged as "curvy" because the rise tends to be too high. I have a high waist but I prefer a mid rise at best so that the pants sit a bit lower and makes me look more balanced.

I much prefer the outfit with the black trousers (I like #1 best), but that belt will indeed slip around without the belt loops. The outfit will look nice without the belt, but it's killer with it.

That top is absolute perfection.

Can you loosen the belt with the grey pants, Amy?

I like 1-3, and especially #2 because it's a nice mix of greens. That's a really pretty printed top you have here. Nice find!

I'm just going to repeat what everyone else is saying - I love 1-3. Very classy. I'd just leave the belt off if it were me. It probably looks better with but the slippage would drive me crazy. The grey trousers look like they don't fit right. Isn't fitting trousers fun? I'm in dire need of trouser shopping and I keep finding reasons to put it off.

Love all the combos with the black pants. The gray color is very nice, but the fit is not doing you justice compared with how flattering the black ones are.
