A few photos, all trying out some new items.
#1 is the brown corduroy jeans from BR. Thanks Angie! A little wider through hips and thighs than I like for straight leg jeans. Ended up wearing with an LLBean cotton cable sweater. Not great proportion but cozy.
#2 we had a business lunch--wanted to wear my new Vince cashmere but when I put it on I changed my mind. Wore new Boden dark red cashmere sweater with a scarf and J Crew blazer, and brown pull on Paige Masai ponte knit pants. Looked down during lunch and noticed a smudge on the blazer lapel. Old Ecco Soft 7 shoes and so-far unused Sakroots bag.
Lesson: check out those items for spots and spills that you haven't worn lately before you put them on and leave. (Spots sponged off later.)
Note: I tried on 2 to 3 items for each final piece. And I was the most dressed up person in the group.
Reminded how much I liked the off red and brown combinations--when? 70's or 80's.
#3 came home and changed into cashmere cardigan. Comfy. Macy's sale from a couple of years ago.
#4 & 5 Came home today and found new pair of Joe's Jeans from The Rack had arrived. Oops--I accidentally ordered a petite. Guess what? They fit great and won't have to be hemmed. Interesting. I was tall (5' 8 1/2") before aging and always had trouble finding pants long enough. (We are going back to my teenage years here.) Until I found Paige and Joe's and NYDJ, which are too long in flares and bells. And the body of these jeans fits better as well--a little stretchy in the waist. We'll see how these work out.
#6 Thanksgiving Eve at restaurant dinner. (Only showing one side of the table.) That same cardi and a J Crew cashmere brown pullover from a couple of years ago. Wearing new T Tahari pull on pants in cashew that go with my new cashew and brown sweaters etc. I wore the new Uniqlo ultra warm tights under the pants, cozy as can be and comfortable.
Change of plans for Thanksgiving: two people tested positive for Covid the next morning so that family stayed home and we changed the dinner place and took the leftovers to the isolated family members. The rest of us dined together and got home in good shape. Nobody else caught the fun-wrecking Covid.
For Thanksgiving wore my Boden striped sweater with the cashew cardi and pants. The color shown here is more of an olive. Sorry I'm behind on collecting finds. No fun annual T-day photos this year.
