A few weeks back (sorry I can't recall who started the post!) there was a discussion about better quality workwear and I mentioned I was getting some things custom made and I was asked for a report... Well finally, after months of planning, research etc, my pieces are coming in and I should get the rest of them this weekend. I am loving the pieces I already have - the fabrics feel lovely and they have been made to exactly fit ME - always an issue being tall and v curvy!
It took me some time to find a good quality base fabric and I did some tests, with washing etc. My fabric criteria was black and home washable but smart. It took longer to find some coordinating colours so my wardrobe was not all black. I eventually found a lovely gunmetal blue charcoal, a 'royal' blue, a taupe and a red/pink. They blend so beautifully that I literally could pack a bag with my eyes closed and things would work!
I will post some pictures tomorrow when most of the pieces are here but my inspiration/theme was elegant corporate modern classic (a bit Clair Underwood, a bit Christine LaGarde) and colours 'starry starry nights'. That has lent itself to clear bright colours around the blue palette - ranging from black to light, with shades of blue and the pink of a rising sun.
