Just this week I had a very positive encounter with ModCloth customer service and thought I would share. I had ordered a pair of polka dot tights (Fan Flair Tights - http://www.modcloth.com/shop/t.....air-tights) which featured prominently in my "overdressed compared to everyone else at the baby shower" outfit from last weekend.

What I don't think I mentioned is that when I received the tights I was annoyed to discover that, straight out of the package, they had a between nickel and quarter sized hole in the crotch. They were cute and to my knowledge not returnable, so I figured I'd get a couple of wears out of them before they became x-rated and it wasn't a total loss. Also, as an avid reader of online reviews, I left a short review explaining that the tights were adorable, but mine were defective.

I was pleasantly surprised to get a personal e-mail back from the ModCloth customer service team explaining that they couldn't post my review as their review policy states that if you receive a defective item you should contact customer service, but that they were sorry for the poor quality and had refunded the cost of the tights. The letter went on to say that there was no need to mail them back and suggest some repair options. Apparently some people have successfully repaired tights with superglue - who knew?

I should have read their review policy more carefully, normally I am diligent about using retailers' preferred channels for handling customer complaints. It is nice to know that ModCloth is proactive about providing a great experience to their customers and I will not hesitate to order from them again in future.
