Everlane Square Shirt

Hello,

I'm trying to refresh my white work tops, and am considering the Everlane Purchase. Has anyone tried the Poplin Short Sleeve Square Shirt? Would you be willing to share a photo or review?

I have found a number of reviews and pictures of people wearing the silk version of the shirt, but less about the cotton version. The silk looks lovely, but I have a toddler and want to steer clear.

I'm also interested in your suggestions for other structured, yet interesting white tops...

No experience, but I too was discouraged by the silk one due to the prospect of dry cleaning.

I have long admired this top. It is gorgeous. I have not purchased it because I strongly suspect it would be too short on my body.

Although I really like it, I cannot recommend that you try it because you would have pay for shipping. I don't think it is worth it. Perhaps other forum member might have the ideas.

Looks great, and I don't know the piece. But I would want to know if it ironed okay - the thought of having a white shirt without being able to iron it properly would be a concern for me.

I'm no good with an iron, so I try to be really careful when I wear it, so I don't have to wash it too often, then I send it to the cleaners to be washed and pressed. The crispness and shape are what make it so perfect, and I know I wouldn't be able to get it back into shape myself. The dress does have some minor darts at the waist that give it a little shape, yet not enough to make it fitted. I don't think the shirt has these. Also of note, the fabric is almost sheer, but since it sits away from your body so much it doesn't really show anything. I just make a point to be really careful with undergarments. I hope this helps, even though I don't have the exact garment.

Also, on the silk shirts, I have hand washed and dried mine. I can't decide if it shrank a little in the wash since it's so roomy.

Thanks for the input on the dress version of this top. I am now concerned about its sheerness. Do you have to wear a camisole?

I have the silk version in navy (am wearing it now, actually). Of course the fabric and drape are different so I can't comment on that aspect. I wash in the hand wash cycle of my washer and press.

It is slightly cropped (not a crop top, but does not work well with low waist trousers) and oversized elsewhere. It looks best with a slim bottom -- either a tube skirt or slim jeans/ pants.

Current, I don't wear a cami with mine, just a nude bra and undies, although I'd bet if I stand in front of a light hitting it right the shape of my body can be made out through it. Since it stands away from the body so much it isn't bad. I'll hunt up a pic to see if you can tell. ETA: so, looking at my pic it's pretty opaque. I still feel like in front of the right light you could see my silhouette. It's not enough to get me into a slip.

Suz- Thank you for the advisory about the length. I am hoping to wear it with slim ponte pants or a pencil skirt, so I think that the length will work.

Traci- I appreciate the pictures that you posted. They cleared up my concerns about the sheerness. I like the dress on you a lot. I have eyed it on the website, but was concerned that it was too short for me, I'm 5'7. Are you tall?

I don't have this one, for perspective, but I have a black shirt dress that Traci has too, and at 5'6" it is perfect with pants but too short as a dress, tho it looks perfect on Traci. Might you that one has a curved hem on the side. Another a-line dress I have from everlane is above my knees and just long enough I would wear as a dress, but will be perfect with pants. Long winded way of saying, I think k their dresses run short.
