I just bought a pair of the Everlane Modern loafers and I need some input on the fit. First of all, I think they fit. They are a bit narrow, but not pinching (which is great, because, although unfussy, my feet are on the wider side), so acceptable in this regard. I sized-up per Everlane's suggestion, so there is a bit of extra length, but no slip at the heel (so far, during limited house trial). The issue is the stiffness. I do not frequently buy loafers so I have little experience, here, but these are very stiff--the soles are stiff. Does this cause a comfort issue over a longer period of wear? Should I expect the stiffness to last or do they break in fairly quickly? Any user experience will be helpful.
