While I was taking a break from shopping in February, I identified some major wardrobe holes, one of which was a cropped boxy cardigan in a non-wool knit for layering over high-volume tees and tops. The only lightweight cardigan I own is longer, hitting below the hip, and too narrow to wear over most of my current tops (it's from about 10 years ago!). Needless to say, I haven't been wearing cardis much lately. But in theory I like them. Sometimes blazers and jackets are too stiff and structured. And I can't just wear hoodies all the time, right?
Lo and behold, Everlane came out with this perfectly boxy, perfectly cropped, perfectly cotton, perfectly black cardi. It keeps going out of stock, so I'm glad I pounced. I sized down to an XXS. It's pretty roomy and forgiving. Shown here buttoned and unbuttoned, with the cuffs full length and rolled, and with and without the scarf, to give a sense of the neckline. (The scarf is new too -- followed me home from Loft last week when I went in to return some pants.)
Ever put on something new and go, "Oh, wow, I'm going to wear this nonstop for at least the next season or two, or maybe forever!" Yeah, for me, this sweater does that. It works great with boxy tops and mid- to high-rise pants (as shown) but I'm super excited to wear it over dresses too.
Pardon the wet hair; it's a busy day and if I didn't snap pics right away I'd probably never get around to it. Also, I'm pretty excited.
