When my son was 5 and we were packing for a move, he saw me pull out the iron from its spot in the laundry room. His eyes got wide: “WHAT is THAT?” I explained & he thought it was amazing. That child was with me all the time, but had never seen me use that device. I currently don’t own one.
Bizarrely, when I took my pleated silk skirt to the cleaners to get the bike grease out, she scolded me for having tried to do so myself with water, said I’d ruined the skirt. Not the fabric—the pleats. When I picked it up, the grease was gone, but pleats faded away in that area. There is a different cleaner I’m planning to take it to so they can repeat it.
