Yesterday at Filene's I tried on a pair of Missoni jeans, size 38. Never mind that they were way too long; they weren't tight at all and the reason I passed up on them was because the crotch was baggy in a strange way. I just checked and a 38 is a US size 8? That can't be (I have small hips but a very large apple belly and in general my sizing is a snug 12 at the moment). I thought that European sizes had maintained a much better consistency than in the US.
