I was going through my closet yesterday (as seen in my giving away clothing post--size 0s and 2s, take a look to see if you want anything that remains), and I came across a dress I purchased during NAS two years ago. I never wore it and forgot to return it (rare for me, as I'm usually great about keeping track of my needed returns). It still has the tags on it. I know Nordstrom will take it back...but it's two years old. I feel guilty returning it. I mean, what will even happen to the dress? Will it just be shredded somewhere? Will it be sold at the Rack (in which case, I don't feel as bad)? Last week I returned two unused eyeshadows to MAC and they marked them and threw them in a bin. I said "those weren't opened, they are brand new" and the response was that once they leave the store they are considered unsellable. I felt really wasteful.
My boyfriend thinks I'm crazy and that I should just take it back and get my money. But I really am torn about this. Thoughts? (And to think that this post is coming from the self-proclaimed Queen of Returns.)
