I tried to pick one item in each category and they often turned out to be an oldie but goody. I think I could get dressed for almost any occasion in any weather with this wardrobe. I did not include gear for outdoor activities.

You could add your black combat boots. Comverse, and round toed booties as well. The black floral combat boots would be a statement! Also, all your black knit tops, and maybe a black skirt. I could see light blue items becoming an essential in the same way Angie’s blush has crept into her essentials.

sun tiger, Runcarla, and Tanya: Thank you. My original list was much longer and included many of the items you mentioned. I like the idea of light blue being an essential for me. I wore light blue, white, and purple today and the chambray shirt and light blue jeans work well with a lot of my jackets and cards. I do have a black skirt but seldom wear skirt but I could add that, too.

slim cat and Angie: Thank you. I am becoming a shoe fan, I added two pair of sneakers this month. My outerwear situation is that I have two wool coats, one is red and the other is green. This has been working well for me so far. I do have a black short puffer and a long red fleece coat for more casual occasions. Does every category have to have an Essential?

I’m now obsessed with the idea that every category needs essentials - because it makes sense to me and seems like a plan I can get behind . How are you liking your EF white sneakers ? I’m loving mine although have only had them on twice - at work .

I think I'm good with no essential coat, I like my colored coats and really have no need for another one. --lisa p: I did get the EF white sneakers and have already worn them 5 times. I had to return them for a smaller size. They are super comfortable and go with most of my wardrobe of blue and white. I'm wearing them in my photo in comments. Call me a lemming but I don't care, I get great leads from this site.
