We went to see the Eras Tour movie last night with our son, a dedicated Swiftie. I am a fan of Taylor Swift, via our son mainly, and have become fascinated by her business acumen and self-made success. I don't love all of her music, but I think this amazing production can be admired by even the uninitiated. And she is just... nice. Her fans are legion and dedicated!
As I watched dozens of young girls joyfully dance and sing for 3 hours in front of the screen, observed a few grown up girls night groups, and a relatively full theater a week after the movie's release, clapped and cheered (at a movie!), and was literally moved to tears a few times - it occurred to me that this is a singular event, much like lining up at midnight in front of Barnes & Noble for the release of Harry Potter books when my kids were young. I doubt it will happen again (other than for Taylor).
Danny made amazing concert t-shirts for his friends when they went to the concert in Boston, and gave me one. I'll have to model it here when I get home.
