Equipment vs. F21

Not that there's really any comparison, but I'd seen this Equipment sweater on some bloggers. It's far too Soul-Sucking Beige for my complexion, but I liked the idea of a camo sweater.

Enter this F21 sweater, which is lightweight and a much better color on me. Also, it has subtle studs on the shoulders.

So I got the F21 sweater. It will be an interesting item for the season and maybe beyond. Is it a mistake to be cheap?

I like the F21 version better. I just bought a camo cardi (ha, say that 10 times fast!), on sale + coupon at an outlet, it's great to get a bargain!

Look, $300 is a lot for a sweater with a kind of trendy pattern - I mean, how many more decades can this camo craze go on? I like the F21 one better too. It's OK to cheap out on an item that you might wear for one season or so and then toss. That's the fun of fashion.

I like the F21 version for you. If it's a summer item, no need to invest heavily. The colors and pattern look much nicer, even if it's not cashmere.

f21 is better all the way. Only a few bloggers will remember the Equipment one, but *everyone* will recognize a flattering color on you. Best dollar goes to the item you will wear and love.

First, I like the F21 better - a better color by far. More RATE and less preppy, IMHO. So, better buy from that point.

Second, do you own a lot of camo already and thus are sure this will be a staple for many years to come? Not sure your budget, but mine says a $300 sweater has to be a very versatile workhorse. I am not sure a camo sweater fits this category. I think of it more as a trendy piece that may be donated in a year or two. As such, a less expensive piece is the right purchase.

Even if I thought it was going to be a staple, I still don't like the Equipment one's coloring, and for the $23, the F21 is a nice substitute until you find the cashmere workhorse in a good color.

I think the F21 one is perfect -- you can wear it until it falls apart with no guilt

Ha! I've been eyeing that camo sweater because DH would love it on me. I had no idea it was an Equipment knock-off. Looking forward to pics (hint, hint).

I think it's pretty smart. The F21 looks better with your complexion and it's about 1/10 the price of the other.

Like the F21 way better - it also looks more spring-y to me, not being cashmere as the Equipment one. Not to mention the coloring is less washed out, too! Have you seen this one? I'm going to try to locate it in store and try it on

i like both but a similar cheap version is more flattering and difference one is cashmere and the other one might be cotton ..anyways that don't matter when u look good ! Excelent choice!

It's all about what works for YOU - not about the price. What would the point be in buying something higher end if you never wore it?

It's not a mistake to be cheap when you've thought about all the pros and cons. The F21 sweater is a better color and has the extra studs on the shoulders.

It'd be "miserly" only if you refuse to apply the saved money towards another fab item!

Besides, isn't it oh-so-modern to be wearing hi/lo outfits these days? I think your reasons for going with F21 make total sense from a wardrobe-construction perspective.

Makes sense to me. Sometimes it's nice to have low cost items that aren't painful to move on from when the time is right.
