I have been inspired by all the latest end of year posts to try to gather my thoughts and share my own. It has been an impossible few years and style is what has helped me keep my mental and emotional balance by giving me a focus and a lens to look at the world.

So...I have found many new interesting sources of inspiration on substack and otherwise, while continuing to be sustained and inspired by Angie, YLF and this forum. I am working in two local thrift stores doing the sorting and deciding what gets into the store and how it is priced. It also gives me first dibs on what comes in. Quite a fringe benefit.

Ironically perhaps, this has led to me buying less. I would say that I have become super picky and only buy true grails for myself, and most of my favorites are not even from my own stores. My most worn new-to-me winter items are all second hand: 1. vintage Jean Paul Gaultier bag, 2. 1999 Prada Sport winter coat and 3/4. (some recent outfits wearing) Gap girlfriend jeans. Only the Gap jeans are from my workplace.

My goal for next year is to focus more on my essentials - the perfectly fitting jeans, the comfortable walkable shoes, day to day earrings and the soft underlayers my skin is demanding. I am not saying I will not pick up anything fun or funky, not at all, but want to invest more of my budget on the essentials.

Thanks for reading and happy new year!
