End of 2015!! Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Hi all

Just a short post to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas, or Holiday Season to those who do not celebrate Christmas.

We have had a funny year in 2015, lots of highs but a few lows too. I think that is typical to most people and I know many forum members have had personal challenges this year.

I love being part of this community and have learned so much this year, and I look forward to posting and contributing in 2016. I have learnt how to take a better WIW photo, learnt how to surive on 30 pieces of clothing for a month, and added in some great new pieces that I am loving wearing. But I am out of steam at the moment - my energy levels are low and my brain is fuzzy.

I hope to post a couple of WIW next week from our party and I have a couple on the phone to share, and I will try to contribute to others threads.

But in Brooklyn's words - I am out of adjectives!!

It is crazy in the Southern Hemisphere - we have school year end and all that entails, plus Holiday Season with celebrations and gift purchasing, plus many of us go on holiday for a week or two. In my case we are off to the beach (in my new beach skirt!).

So just a short thank you, best wishes and see you around more fully in January 2016:)

I can't imagine dealing with the added demands of the holidays combined with the busy-ness of the end of the school year. Take it one thing at a time, and have a wonderful, relaxing time at the beach!

Most people I know that have experienced summer and winter Christmas seasons love the winter one. Holidays give you something to look forward in the bleak mid winter - here we do have skiiing, or some people go to a warm island, but it can be a long drag through June-September.

And Christmas food suits a cool climate. We don't do a totally traditional meal now - Roast Turkey, Hot Ham and a Rich Steamed Fruit pudding are incongruous with the heat.

I adore summer, and there are great things about summer New Years Eves - long parties on the deck, midnight swims.

Sally Merry Christmas to you too. This time of year is a crazy time in our part of the world. I am working from a list daily to ensure I am on top of everything while having Master 12 home on school holidays and working.

Sally, I always enjoy your posts - you come across as so friendly and approachable, and I'm in awe of the excellent job you have just done in organising Secret Santa. Although I didn't take part, I enjoyed watching the proceedings from the sidelines - great fun!
This has been my first year on YLF, and I've loved interacting with the lovely folk here even though I keep a fairly low profile myself. Plus, of course, I've learnt so much!

Thanks Sally. I spent a couple of Christmases in Buenos Aires when I was young and except for being hot and humid, it was a fun experience. Next year about this time I hope to be visiting your side of the Southern Hemisphere, so I will be following your summertime posts for now.

It has been busy here too. I thought it would be much quieter, but I've had 3 evening committee meetings in the last 2 weeks, and I'm going to a 21st tonight (takes me back a few years)
