Should I get these boots? They are on sale in my size, in the color I've had my eye on for months. However, boots are not on my spring/summer shopping list.

Oh boy....can you afford to vear off your list....are you willing to bump something off your list? Do you wear ankle boots ?

I like lists as guidance. I also think that every once in a while something comes along that may not be exactly on the list but embodies the list in spirit. ( How is that for enabling ! Lists have spirit...why, yes, the do. )

Hmmm ... I like the idea of something that's in the spirit of the list, but not on the list. And I have been thinking about these boots for months. But, I haven't seen them in person.

I wear ankle boots with jeans all the time. I have wondered whether these would work with a skirt too.

I think these boots are more limited in use than a sleek bootie; especially since these are hard to dress up - are you looking for a pair of casual booties?

My plans were:

(a) with jeans (I mostly wear straight legs)

(b) with dress pants, in an attempt to casualize and modernize

But if only (a) would work, perhaps I shouldn't get them. I do already have a lot of boots - black and brown knee high, old Frye campus, grey cowboy boots, and taupe suede high-heeled booties.

Great color but maybe Lyn is right about them being more limited in styling options? Sounds like you already have quite a few pairs of boots.

They are really great, but I would hesitate if you haven't tried them on for comfort. It is one thing to spring for something off the list if you know it is going to work; another to do so if you're not sure about suitability and comfort.

I do think the styling might be a big limited. Not sure they would work with dress pants all that well.

Oh dear. I still love them. What WOULD one wear with dress pants if one wanted to casualize and modernize? Preferably with a 2.5 inch heel. Perhaps I'll start a new thread about this.

Okay, I love that style, so my answer is OMG, YES!!! but honestly for spring/summer a lighter color might be better unless this one goes well with your hair. Does the brown work with your snazzy trousers that you want to dress down?

I don't think they'd work with dress pants if they are wide at the ankle; try a bootie that has a more closed top part.

For example; these are my booties (so I'm biased); but the top part will fit under a dress pant leg more polished-ly.

Check Angie's post about dressing down her Theory suit. I think she wore cowboy boots like this, although I can't remember for sure.
