EF skirted leggings (aka but vest)

I've been wanting these for ages now and am thinking of just taking the plunge - but I'd like to know if anyone is still wearing them or if they were just a passing, not terribly useful/workable fad. Any feedback much appreciated!

I have a non EF version and have every intention of wearing them again when the weather cools down. I wish it wouldn't , but that's another story.

I too have a non EF version and will be pulling them out for fall. Mine are definitely not summer weight. I have every intention of wearing them on weekends.

I love my EF skirted leggings! After buying and never wearing her harem pants, I hesitated on the "butt vest" for way too long and regret all the opportunities I missed by swithering. They act a bit like a built-in tunic for me, as I don't have many tunic tops, and the skirt extends some of my regular tops to tunic length. They're easy choices on days when I don't want to think about styling an outfit. Great for travel, too.

Being a woman of a certain age, I did size up to get some extra length on the skirt.

I also intend to wear the heck out of mine next year. Due to my "Butt vest adventures in shipping" i didn't get them until spring so they've only been worn 3-4 times. I loved them, for exactly the reason Aliona said... things like my chambray shirt, some sweaters, aren't quite long enough for me to comfortably wear as tunics, with just leggings. But the skirt on the skirted leggings extends the line just enough to all of a sudden give many of my tops a new lease on life.

Melanie, do a search on "EF skirted leggings" or "Butt vest" and you should find lots. There were several threads in late 2014, early 2015. Angie did a blog post on them as well.

I have these and *love* them.

Caveat: on women our size/fitness level, the EF skirted leggings are possibly at their best as work-from-home/loungewear. If you discover styling methods that make the EF ones work in public, please let me know!

My non-EF ones are viable streetwear (well, at least for 6 A.M. taking dog out and grabbing milk at corner store), so it's worth exploring alternatives.
