EF cap-sleeve silk tee?

It feels like a luxury to buy a silk tee shirt, but I want one, darn-it! I love the feel of silk next to my skin, and this shirt seems like it would be a lovely layer under a topper.

So, enough justifying: Has anyone bought one of these? Thoughts? What's the fit like?

Also, if someone could describe the colours for me, please?

I do have one of these shirts, but not from NAS. I bought a lavender one at Nordstrom Rack a few months ago. I hesitated to buy it, as even at Rack prices it wasn't cheap, but it feels so good. I have not worn it on its own, but layered under jackets.

Robin, I love these and wear them year round. They wash well, wear well, and feel great. BUT even sized up, they're short on me and a little skimpy. I never wear them without a third piece; they show every detail of bra and body. YMMV of course, and some seasons' versions are heavier knit and some are even longer.

Robin, I haven't seen the shirts in person but based on the online photos: Soft White is cream or ivory with not too many yellow tones. Peat is a dark, cool brown. Eucalyptus is a sage green, medium toned and somewhat earthy but like a rainforest rather than a pine forest, if that makes sense. Black looks like a true black.

I had one in my usual EF size and eventually returned it because it ran short. Sizing up helped, but it's still on the shorter than preferable side.

Thanks to folks who've weighed in so far.

Hmmm...this season's colours aren't floating my boat so much,and I was hoping to get something other than black.

I noticed the measurements are on the shorter side. I'm on the shorter side too, but that's worth keeping in mind.

Cerinda: You said these wash well? Do you handwash them, then? The page says these should be dry-cleaned or washed by hand.

I even have some from 6 or more years ago: I wash them in a delicates bag in a front loading washer with gentle detergent; block and dry flat; they lose maybe an inch of length in the first wash.

I have one, and a couple of 3/4 sleeve ones. Yes they are good;mine are several years old. I am tall with a long body and they are oj, but as others say I usually wear them with a third piece.

The green is a 'I work for the park service' green, pretty drab. Also the cut seems very hour-glassy. I'm thinking this is a tee that won't work shape-wise for a lot of people.

This is very much the shape of the EF cotton ballet tee, which I have. Sometimes they are available in cashmere. The neckline is scooped but not too low. I really like the shape. I wash my EF silk tops by hand and hang on a thick hanger to dry in the shower. The thing about washing silk is not to soak or agitate it much or the fibers will weaken. I caused a hole in the collar of a heavy silk shirt by washing in the machine in a mesh bag, then hanging to dry.
The colors: soft white is just that. It's not a bright optic white but more the color of snow in the shade, not as yellow as ivory. Sometimes it is called winter white or off-white.
Eucalyptus is a medium olivey green.
Peat is a greenish brown and rather dark. Sometimes the color is called "breen".
Brick red is a warm medium shade of red, almost a burnt orange.
EF silk, even black, is usually not shiny but has more of a matte finish. I like that about it.

I bought this year's new color "Eucalyptus" and in my mind it's a bluish greenish kind of sagey color LOL. I've been wearing this fabric for years, and it wears like iron.

I wash in my front loader on the hand wash cycle and then hang to dry. Do a quick press on silk setting when dry.

I love these tops as layering pieces.

i have the cream one from last years NAS….i'm still using an old top loading washer, which i just try this in, and wash on cold with the rest of my whites, then dry on a folding rank. i'd like to tell you i love this top, but IMO it's so close to being prefect, but just misses the mark…as others mentioned it's short, if it was maybe a quarter or half an inch longer, it would be perfect.

Robin I have an EF silk cami, tank and long sleeve tee shirt in the washable silk. LIke Joy I do a quick sink was w woolite and hang to dry. I love these pieces. They wear like iron and feel divine on. The tanks/cami/tees tend to run small by EF standards. I usually size down I'm a size 4-6 (designer) and take an XS in EF but in these pieces I've sometimes sized up to a small. I love them under pieces but polished enough for on their own. Highly recommended.
