I don't think a person who wants to dress in their own style is being selfish and I don't think a person who dresses to please someone else is being submissive. I do like to be true to myself, whatever that might be, and it's not always easy to know what that is.

Sometimes in situations like this when multiple "selves" are wrestling for control, I bypass the rationalizing by just imagining the future scene, including the company I expect to be with, and then picturing myself.
