I bought more at the NAS preselect that I can keep, but had hit the wall and was tired so I bought a pile to bring home and contemplate. One of those items I've already posted about - the teal leather jacket. (Mine!)
It was a good exercise to prioritize the rest of my items. One thing I realized is that I wear the heck out of my more distinctive tops and wear my basic ones less often - so back goes at least one, and possibly both, of the v-neck sweaters. I think because my bottoms are pretty basic, I really find patterned or otherwise distinctive tops MORE versatile.
I also bought the Munro leopard slipper flats. I have good luck with Munros, and I've already gone worn out two pairs of leopard ballet flats so this seemed like a nice update. But when I thought about what I wanted to wear them with, I realized it was mostly skirts, or pants I've hemmed for 2"heel boots. So back they go, and in their place I ordered a pair of leopard pumps - that are cheaper :-).
Finally, like Abie, I'd been stalking a Foxcroft tencel denim look shirt that never went on sale. The NAS had a similar one so I snagged it. But I realized I was settling - this one has some style differences (sleeve length, pockets) that I just don't find as appealing. So while it was similar it was, also, settling. Back it goes.
As I said - this has all helped me be more focused in terms of what I really wear, where I get the most bang for my fashion budget. It wasn't on the things I'd assumed it was. Thanks, YLF, for all the lessons you've taught me that help me be more discerning now.
