I had actually finished going through everything last week and had it all packed up but I was having a bit of an emotional crisis taking the last step. Yesterday I loaded up my car and finally made the trip to drop off my donation.

This is a HUGE edit! Even bigger than I thought it would be. I donated 131 articles of clothing in perfect condition, some never worn. The majority is work clothes from the mid 90's to 2007. This does not include outerwear, footwear or handbags.

My lifestyle changed, I gained weight and one day I just packed everything away and hauled it to the basement for storage. I attempted editing on several occasions, even did manage to get rid of a few things, but going through it all was too daunting and I always gave up before I really ever started. Plus, tons of basement storage enabled me to ignore it.

I have done clothing edits from 2007 to present, in fact, one of the biggest edits was shortly after I found YLF. I had lost weight and was inspired to get rid of all the clothing that no longer fit. I also started a holding zone at that time which has grown so it is next on the edit list.

Realizations:

  • I didn’t need as many clothes as I thought I did for my past lifestyle and I need even less now.
  • Do not ask SO for help with clothing edits and if possible do them when he is out of town. (He thinks everything is a keep!)

Thank you Angie for starting this challenge and everyone that has shared their editing stories. You provided the motivation and inspiration I needed.
