Some of these pieces were in my holding zone, some in my regular closet. This is really just scratching the surface, but I thought I’d share what I’m finding so far. Most of these are going (there are a couple of questions in the comments below).

1. Loft metallic stripe blouse — I like the look but it’s scratchy. Bye bye.

2. I think this was Elizabeth and James? Tag is gone. I love the print but always struggled to style it. The back is open which made it even more difficult. The neck is a bit high for me. Bye bye.

3. BR cropped jeans — I never really warmed to cropped flares, and this is one of three pair that are going. Actually, I may cut one pair off into shorts.

4. Vince Camuto cream silk shirt. Really nice, fits well. Just not right for my lifestyle — I never reach for it. It needs to go to someone who needs workwear. Bye.

5. Pure & Good knotted front tee. Color is good, I like the style, but the sleeve it one of those indecisive cap sleeves that hits me in a point I just don’t like anymore. Buh-bye.

6. BR cream jeans. Currently a size too snug, and I struggle with light jeans anyway. Going.

7. Rich & Skinny houndstooth skinnies. Ouch. A size too small now, and low rise. Love the pattern but they need to go.

8. I tried. It’s been in and out of donate bag. Halogen leather peplum top. I even had it altered back when I bought it. Wore it twice I think. A size too small now. Letting go.

9. H&M sleeveless black sweater. An old workhorse that now gets passed over for other black sleeveless tops. It’s ancient and I got my wear out of it, but was hanging on just in case and because it still fit and is in good shape. Going.

10. Mint stripe v-neck sweater. Designer (can’t remember what label now). Wore it a couple of times. I dislike the length on me — too long. See ya.

11. The beloved long black BCBG jacket — can it be? This on the chopping block? Well, I haven’t worn it in the last year. I’ve been favoring other jackets and my life has gotten more casual. Plus hubs confessed he doesn’t love it. It’s starting to show a little wear. Should I let it go? Or holding zone?

12. Another painful one. Vince navy leather jacket. I wore it multiple times the first year, and something has shifted for me since then. It doesn’t feel like me anymore. Don’t love the collar style on me, even though it fits and is flattering. I may sell this. Or holding zone? But it’s been in the holding zone for a year.

13. Another ouch. Parker tweed jacket, now a size too small. It’s going away.

14. INC color block moto. Fits so well and is flattering but I never wear it. Not really the style I’m after now. Passing it along to my niece.

15. Another heavy sigh. Beautiful J Crew tipped pea coat. A little snug now over anything heavier than a tee. And perhaps a little too classic for me now? I think it’s time to let it go.

16. A lovely mistake. Bought this spring — still has tags. Laundry white lace jacket. I just don’t need a summer jacket like this in my climate. Anybody want this?

17. Sob. Ann Fontaine pinstripe vest. Now at least a size too small. Letting go.

18. My sorting area for mini-edits. The baskets have tags — donate, holding zone, and one for my niece.

Any reactions? Thoughts? Is this helpful for anyone else?
