Edgy nude pumps?

I was trying on shoes recently, and got some smashing black heels, but I left behind a pair of nude pumps that has been haunting me ever since. I LOVED the way they seemed to add a mile to my legs (maybe because they were staggeringly high ) but I left them because I just wasn't sure how to work a nude pump into an edgy/gothy look. Is there such a thing? I was thinking maybe if I added a black cap toe, they wouldn't look quite as "off" and the black toe shouldn't be sufficient to eliminate the leg lengthening. Even then, the only way I'm imagining wearing a nude shade is with leopard print, which has similar tones. Or maybe if I added some studs/hardware detailing? I'm really torn here.

Basically, does anyone have examples or ideas for how to make these work with my style, or is it just not viable?

(PS - if you plan to google "nude pumps," for pete's sake make sure you turn on the adult safe search option. yeesh.)

What size do you wear? I have some fabulously edgy two-tone nude pumps that I can't really walk in and have sadly decided need to go. If you're a size 6 you are welcome to them.

I like the black heel on Mary's much better than the black toe. It looks sort of hoof like somehow to me.
I wore plain ol' nude pumps with black satin cigarette pants and felt it was edgy enough. The shoes almost disappear and let the rest take center stage.

Ah, Mary K to the rescue! If only I had tiny feet too. I would snap those up in a second.

I have a pair of nude plus black 'vogs, which may be a little less goth and more girly, but I think they show that interesting nude and black shoes are out there. If you love 'em and wear a 9 (not a Fluevog 9, because goodness knows what that is, but a real life 9 ), I could make you a good deal on mine. They are a little too tall for me, much as I love them.

Would you want yours more rugged? I find goth hard to pin down because one person can mean fairly rugged when they say goth and another may mean steam punk femininity. I feel like your postings so far have been more half way between those two. Strong, but still a little feminine.

I love wearing mine with ankle length pants, draped top & jacket. I also have a blue & black brocade pants suit that I've worn with them - like Mo says they just disappear & let the suit do its job. I also wore them to a wedding with a plain silk, draped dress & print/water-colour effect silk jacket the dress & jacket. This was less edgy but still "me". I don't tend to wear them with my more classic outfits, I need edgy shoes then, as a nod to my more avant garde side.

I am no help here because I think nude pumps can work with everything:-)
MaryK, stunning shoes, too bad you cannot walk in them. Are they the ones from Thanksgiving?

@ K.P. - I DO wear a 9! But I tend to have wide-ish feet. Not super wide, but enough that anything with a narrow/pointy toe box is usually out of the running for me. Are the 'vogs as narrow as they look in pics? I've always wanted a pair, but not if they end up as another pair of "sitting down shoes."

Also, I hadn't even considered a black heel. I like the look a lot, and it seems to eliminate the stumpification of a black toe completely. That may be worth considering.

Also, am I imagining things, or was there such a thing as nude toned rockstuds?

I was just thinking about this today because I encountered some nude Margiela booties at the consignment store:

which I chose not to buy, but I was wondering if I could use them in a goth/punk context or not.

I also really like the nude-accented versions of the Valentino Rockstud shoes, but that's not enough nude to really read as nude.

Now I'm curious too so I'll try to think of ideas.

ETA: I often search Pinterest for ideas, and "nude heels" seems safe to search for there, based on a quick scan of it.

Mentioning the Rockstuds reminded me that they do come in nude, and there are plenty of other studded nude heels. Maybe that's a good direction to go in? (Literally edgy!)

Florence, how do you feel about heavy anklets? (Thinking leather and chain hardware, not sterling filigree.) That's one option for adding edge to a neutral heels that are otherwise fabulous.

@Greyscale - ooh, I love some of those you turned up. The hardware is a really good way to add some toughness without adding heavy color. Plus, I bet that's DIY-able, too.

@Amy K. - I'm intrigued, because that sounds potentially kinda awesome. Do you have any pictures illustrating what you've got in mind? And do you mean like, ankle straps on the shoes, or literally ankle bracelets the jewellery? Because I could see either one being cool.

@FF: Bwah ha ha! (evil conspiring laughter) I have slightly wide feet too... width was not the problem with these. Hmmmm. I have to confess, though, that I suspect they would probably be sit down shoes. They are for me. I think the heel is 3 1/2 inches. I usually wear heels up to 3 inches comfortably, but they feel a little uncomfortably high to me for a day's wear.
