Echoes of past decades… shoe choices?

Hi everyone I am very attracted by a shoe sale happening over our long Easter weekend here. It’s an importer of European shoes, expensive. My first purchase some years ago was clearance boots which I wore out, and bought my sandals for my daughter’s wedding there plus my beloved olive snakeskin boots. But these are sale prices this weekend with an extra 20% off which makes a difference at the $200-ish mark.
I have 5 pair winter shoes/boots left that I don’t wear because too high, even though you all helped me to edit out many too high pairs before. Since 2019 no shoe mistakes.
But I think I would like to replace with only one pair as trying to reduce numbers overall still.
Influences… winklepickers bought for 50c at church fair aged about 19, loved for a few years. Slightly masculine Oxfords (?)/brogues(?)- loved this pair in the 90s. I like loafers but love my black 2020 pair which I wore yesterday, 93 wears but still like new. Loafers for me are best in autumn/winter/spring with socks so the vamp should be high-ish… I have realised I don’t wear my yellow ones much because they need to have no socks and if it’s warm enough for no socks I will want to wear sandals.
I love bronze and my bronze boots lost their surface treatment and showed through green which I didn’t like so I donated them after lots of wears.
I already own the gold Clark’s Oxfords, 2013, showing some wear… the black loafers 2020 as above, the gold/navy/tan loafers 2016 which I wear with navy socks, and the yellow loafers 2013 which I don’t wear enough.
So… all these following appeal! Too many! Two stand out to me the most though and my husband correctly identified them! I can try most on tomorrow. Do you have thoughts?

My favorites are 8, 9, and 10 — for me, ha, ha, ha. I find that style, especially #10, works with dresses. Keep in mind that slip-ons like loafers don’t work for my feet so I am biased towards oxfords.

Of what you have pictured, my favorite is #10. I had tap shoes that were very similar.

I LOVE my winklepickers. I've resoled them, reheeled them, polished them. They're so comfortable. I don't care if they're in fashion or not! Not biased.

I can see your predicament about buying new shoes. They all look so much fun and so interesting. I don't think I'm being helpful....However, judging by how you describe them, I think you're partial to #8, 9, 10. They are stunning.

I like the winklepickers but I don't think you'll have much use for such pointed toes AND spindly heels in your current closet (& comfort) requirements, right? Agree #8 would be a good Winklepicker & comfy laced Oxfords hybrid instead (the hardware reminds me a bit of monkstrap shoes, too!)

But I think Donna is right about trying them on both with dresses & trousers - I'm unsure about #13 & #14 as a result (though I'm sure that style would suit you with trousers!) I like #10 &#4 the most, but that might be my own Deep Autumn bias coming through (bronze & gold!) lol ...

#12 are pretty too but I imagine that fabric would be impractical to clean? Plus I know you like to wear pattern up top, so patterned shoes might be difficult to match - unless you're ok with head-to-toe pattern mixing? And #7 I also see the insoles are cracking - might be time to retire those shoes to make way for new ones!

My eye was drawn to 10 immediately as a pair I really like. I could also see 9 and 11 on you - they have embellishment but also look comfortable. I prefer the shoes to the boots as well.

#8 and #10 get my vote. Not a fan of the soles on #13 and #14. Have fun trying on shoes!

PS: I’ve read a few trend reports that suggest pointy toes are coming back - especially for F/W 22/23.

I like your yellow loafers best. Despite the low vamp, they look feminine. Yellow or mustard sock are hard to find. Have you tried knee-high stockings or low socks that don’t show.

My eyes were immediately drawn to #9. So pretty, and with that classic shape and black base colour, they could probably be styled with a very wide range of outfits - all while adding sparkle!

I like #10 and #11 too, nice warm colours and an interesting, refreshing echo to your #4 and #6.
The patent leather of #10 look a little stiff on the photo, I'm curious to read how they feel in person!

They better crank up the production on that #10. I don't think of myself as a Shoe Person (despite an unmentionable number of pairs I own)
but oohh that #10.

I very much like pairs #10 and #11. Studs are more common on black shoes, and I kind of like the juxtaposition of the gold studs on rust coloured shoes.

I like 8 in theory but I fear somehow the comfort might not be there. That is intuition based on nothing, so ignore at will!

I think I like 9 and 10 best for you. 9 is almost like an elegant slipper so would work for dressier occasions with pants or dress. 10 is like a tap shoe - fun and happy on the foot, and stable.

Love #8 and #10…but i think #10 could be very limiting in terms of what and how you could/would actually wear them.
There is something appealing about #14, but again, I don’t see them as everything shoes, so if your looking for a true multi tasker, I’d pass on these

BlueJay is correct, it is really 9 and 10 that pull at my heartstrings. They are closely followed by 8.
I checked my dresses, my winter dresses are mostly black and white so 9 would go best. But it will also be all about comfort. I will go shopping today.

So… in the end I could not choose between 9 and 10. The loafers were too big and the boots felt too similar to other boots I have. 9 will go with almost all my winter clothes, 10 with many of them. It was hard leaving 8 behind but I did. So I bought 9 and 10, here are pics, and other pics for good measure just to show you. Fabulous sale prices.
New pics 1/2 original 10, bronze. I bought these.
New pics 3/4 original 9, I bought these.
New pics 5/6 original 8, I left these behind, with some sadness.
All these pairs were comfy. So were the boots- I could only try the black lacy boots, they had sold my size in the blue splotch ones. Both pairs of loafers showed too much sock.

Oh, the bronze ones are Hispanitas? I've heard good things about that brand for comfy wide foot shoes - not sure whether you have wide feet, though?
