You all are so supportive--thank you!

Angie, it's nice to have that "elegant eclectic" descriptor to use as a touchstone. It does feel right for what I want to achieve. I wouldn't have come up with that phrase without the forum! (I had come up with "understated inventive" as my style description--similar, but not quite as, well, elegant!)

Joy, I got the Fidgi Mary Janes last spring/summer at Renee's Contemporary Clothing, my favorite boutique, in Everett, WA. I think Nordstrom had them, too. I felt like they were kind of redundant, as I have a pair of slingback Mary Janes in black, but my goodness, what a difference the color makes. These are not redundant at all, and they were my go-to shoes all summer.

Diane G, I am always interested in your posts, too. I admire you for the skill it takes to do what you do. I love sewing so much, I've often thought about making a business of sewing for others. But I suspect ultimately I wouldn't enjoy it as much as the sewing I do for myself.
