*happy dance*

The tan is more unique and versatile. Great choice!

Thanks Jules and Angie! I always love
to inspire a happy dance!

Very pretty. I like the length. I have several Liverpool denim jackets and they are definitely worth the $$. I hope you enjoy your jackets.

Love them both, think the longer length will work better to pants-but not so much to skirts & dresses, anyway you have one for that purpose already!:-)

Thanks catherine and Lyn67!

Oh fair enough, the possibility of splitting wears is not what you want. I admit to being slightly disappointed but admire the decision making. I would have bought the tamarind

Well, the story is not over. I left the tan jacket hanging on my closet door for a few days, and noticed that it seemed to take on a slightly blush/pink tone in natural light. I generally stick to warm-toned neutrals because dislike mixing warm and cool tones, so noticing the pinkish tone got me thinking. I pulled out my two bags in warm browns, and both of them are AWFUL next to this jacket. Just off enough to look bad to my eye. I’m much picker about this than most people I know.. The two bags are below but I'm sure you can't see what I saw just by looking at finds. I just noticed that in Angie's notes on this jacket (as a top pick) she saw apricot tones in it, so what she called apricot I called blush...really close.

I'm trying to be much picker about what I buy this spring than I have in the past, and I want any new neutral pieces to work with the things already in my closet, including bags and shoes, so this is rather a deal breaker. Fortunately, I was not totally smitten with this jacket, so back it goes, with only a little regret. I already ruled out the Tamarind one because, as DonnaF suggested, it would split wears with my coat in a similar colorr that already does not get enough wear..

Thank goodness I'm getting better at following Angie's wise advice on doing outfit creation...and budget $$ freed up for other things !

p.s. I still give high praise to both jackets, very high quality!

That's a shame, cause it looks perfect in the pic. Changes of light really affect light colors, much more than dark colors. My copper trench is like that too, appears very pinkish on cloudy days- at least in comparison with my skin :/
Still like the tamarind one the most

I thought the tan/pinkish jacket looked great on you, but I totally get that if it doesn't work with your closet color-wise, you need to pass. I find, the more careful I am about color, the more wear I get from an item.

Thanks Suntiger!

And CocoLion, wise words...."I find, the more careful I am about color, the more wear I get from an item"

Awwh. What a shame

Are you sure, Chris? Check in good light. The tones work well in the pics of the Finds.

I get what you mean about tan tones - I have some tan jeans that work well with some warm tones and look awful with others. Too bad though, the jacket looks really nice on you.

I support your decision. These days I am very much trying not to buy things that need other things to make them work. Any one item should fit seamlessly into my current wardrobe. I haven’t made a major mistake on that for quite a while...

I know what you mean Chris. I had a top that had a pinkish beige tone to it. It looked awful with my earth-toned wardrobe. Good plan to be picky.

Great save! Also, keep in mind that if you *seem* to see this jacket again later in the season or next year, it is possible that it is manufactured in a different country or is from a different dye lot -- and is a color that works better for you. It's like when you want to duplicate but don't.

that's too bad. They look great together in finds. But you are the one seeing it IRL and it has to please YOU. Happy hunting.

Angie - you've got me thinking ... The jacket was hanging on a closet door that is right next to a window...so it is natural light.....but I just pulled out my tan trenchcoat (which I want to wear more this spring) and find it has exactly the same issue with my brown bags. Both look great with my burgundy bag. I'll take them all outside in a bit and see how that looks

Thanks for the support everyone!

Took the jacket and bags outdoors for a spin on my deck. Same result, none of the bags work with the jacket. It's ok...I've already mentally moved on. NEXT.
