I am so thrilled with them. And they sent me extra ties and wooden ring accessories at no extra charge. Included a hand written note and some hard candies to boot!
Not only do I love the shoes, but I feel good about buying something produced here by hand that has actual people behind it
I should add that I had a question about a free shipping glitch on their site and they offered it no questions, even though it wasn't supposed to be there.
Good experience all around!

Oh, and MiniMo wanted to help. Must have been because of their name hee hee.

Yes, I guess sandals for xmas seems weird, huh? I thought the BF was going to get them for my b-day in May but this way I'll get a whole month more of wear out of them before we move. It was still 82 today -_-

They come with 7 ribbons, either stripes, solids, or metallics, I think. But they threw in 3 extras, which I appreciate the gesture more than the actual ties

Wow! These look really nice. Are they comfortable? For instance, do you consider them to be 8 hour shoes? I have fussy feet and I wonder how the ribbons feel. Are they stretchy? The interchangeable ribbon colors is such a good idea and the sole looks very nice and streamlined. I could see this kind of shoe being very useful, especially in a warm climate. Very cool, Mo. : )

Ana, the loops that the straps thread through on the shoe base are stretchy elastic, so yes, so far they seem comfy. The footbed is nicely padded. If the straps would feel too restrictive for you, you could easily put in any stretchy material of your choice - that's part of the beauty of them, you can endlessly customize them. I told my BF today these will be 20 year sandals for me, and I'm totally serious. (they are the most expensive item to date in my wardrobe but they are already 10 sandals in 1 basically, and the sky is the limit really)

I have never heard of these and had to go find them. These look like so much fun! Please come back with a review after you've had a chance to road test them. I am seriously considering getting a pair not only for myself but for my daughter.

Thanks Angie! No, the base is solid wood with rubber soles. I have several wood sandals already, so I'm familiar with how these stride.

Mo, those sandals are INCREDIBLE! I am thinking those would be extremely practical fo my climate as well. I love the fact that they're wood, come with different colored laces (how awesome would that be for travelling?) and would last a good long time.

Can each sandal be laced in a myriad of different styles as well? I couldn't figure out that from the website. It would be cool to be able to do a peep toe one day, a sling back the next and then a gladiator style. And maybe after a few years you could even "refinish" them, lol!

claire, yes, many ways to tie them. there is a little video on the site that shows some. They came with 6 different glossy cards with instructions for different styles just for starters I am already looking on eBay for colored grosgrain ribbons for other choices. Zebra anyone? http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html.....m270.l1313 It's literally endless how many colors or designs I can have. I thought of the travel angle, as well!

I will probably be peppering you with more questions about these shoes! Since I am warm season dominant I had been thinking about sandals already, and was wondering if a flatform would be a way for me to wear a bit of a heel. These look like they would stride like one, and that would be fine, as I would wear them for dressy (not for walking to the store or anything). Hmmmm. You've got my wheels turning now Mo! I really like the fact that they would transcend trends and you wouldn't see everyone on the street with the same shoe on. And I haven't been this excited about the different creative tying opportunities since I discovered the casual scarf last winter, lol!

PS Yeah, get the zebra Minnie Mouse for sure.
