Early birthday present from our wonderful Inge

Inge asked me a few days ago whether I would be interested in a leather satchel she decided to let go. I had thought about getting a new everyday bag for a while, but I had enough good options and the money was needed elsewhere, so I never got around to it.

Got the parcel today and I LOVE it. It's the perfect size for uni - it will fit my ring binder, waterbottle, umbrella and my other stuff. The color is divine, in fact it goes perfectly with my hair. And it's the sort of taupe that will go perfectly with my wardrobe too.

Inge, thank you so much for thinking of me! This will be absolutely perfect for my everyday style. It's like getting an early birthday present.

Just have to change one thing, the crossbody strap is too long on petite me. I'm going to go to the cobbler with this, shouldn't be more than 5€. Do you think the length in #3 works? How long do you wear your crossbody bags?

How generous of wonderful Inge! You couldn't pick a more flattering color, and look at all the cool pockets. Perfect for your busy day. I'll let others advise on the length of the strap; I can never seem to get that right.

I don't know about the strap length. I would test it out to see what was most comfortable over a coat while walking Round, etc.

Thanks Amy. This length is somewhat the length of my other bag, but that one has an adjustable strap. I don't want to go too long or it will shift around walking and make my hips look bigger, but when I go too short it hides my waist and might end up being too short for bulkier jackets. I'm going to try to find a length that works with all kind of jackets.

Inge surely has a good eye along with her generous heart.
Since you're going to shorten the strap, why not have the cobbler add in an
adjusting buckle so that you can most comfortably wear over either a thin tee or a parka?

Great bag and it does match your hair so well! I third Vildy and Suz about asking if the cobbler can make the strap adjustable. Might be a little more expensive, but useful too. I usually wear my cross-bodies a tad lower than pic 3, but not much, I don't like it when they flap against me when I walk.

Beautiful! I would have the cobbler make sure the longest hole is sufficient for your bulkiest coat or jacket, and the short one works with just a t-shirt or other single layer. You want it long enough to be able to open it and dig around while you are wearing it.

Astrid, lovely bag, you will get tons of use out of it. Try it on with your bulkiest puffer. I think #3 is a tad short. The adjustable idea is a really good one.

Your photo in #3 made me laugh and smile at the same time! This is such a great bag and how special of "special" Inge to gift you with this memorable birthday gift. A simple cobbler fix is the perfect way to go with this beautiful bag. I defer to others on this, but I think a cross-body bag should have a comfortable "feel" by your hip and you'll just know the length.

That is an amazing bag, and it suits you so well! Inge is such a sweetie. We know this I wear cross body bags that are around hip height, I think. It looks a little high in the photo to me, but ultimately what matters is that it is comfortable to you.
