here's a question for you: i have a collection of 5-10 lovely wool jackets from my working days in the early to mid nineties. only problem is they all have these huge shoulders and arms and look pretty silly when i put them on (how did i ever wear these??). i can't bear to give some away, and removing the shoulder pads does not do the trick. i've considered tailoring, but fear it would need to be so radical that the proportions would be distorted. is it a lost cause to make these wearable again? below is one of my fav's---hard to see in the photo, but in addition to the big shoulders it has peplum style back.
