DVF wrap dress revisited

So, on Rae's advice I did get an eBay seller to give me some measurements. The size 4 DVF is one inch bigger across the shoulders and one inch longer than this VS wrap that I have.
I'm very sorely tempted!

I am not trying to be a disabler but do you use this type of clothing item a lot? I thought most of your daily wear clothes were more casual so I am just wondering if you would be better to put the money towards a great leather jacket or vest or a pair of premium jeans or boots. What girl doesn't need more boots to wear with her kick ass jeans?

Good question Dianthus. I actually did wear my print wrap dresses quite a bit before joining YLF and realizing they didn't actually fit so well. Oops. Purged all 3 of them. I do enjoy a dress in nicer weather.
Beyond all that, though, is the thought that this year I will treat myself to the 'real' wrap dress I never allowed myself before. For my birthday I decided I am worth a DVF. My imminent trip to New Orleans has me about a month ahead of schedule as far as the birthday gift goes, but I know I'd get use from it on my trip.

Is the dress you are considering a print? You really look amazing in this style so if it is different enough I say go for it. They are classics....

You look glorious in that wrap dress. I long for a DVF wrap dress too. I ordered one on ebay but it never arrived and I got a refund. It seemed like I was being sent a message. But I do find wrap dresses on me are not comfortable - they shift around a lot. I prefer the faux wrap myself. I say live the DVF dream.

If you think you will get a lot of use out of it, them go for it. DVF wraps are the creme de la creme.

One question for those who have them - is silk jersey quite delicate, or can I wear it much like I would a poly or rayon jersey?

Mo, silk jersey is very strong, but it does stain easily. I know this because I am, sadly, messy by nature.

Subconscious upgrade...I like that. I think that's where I'm at with my wardrobe, too. Well, some of the upgrades are conscious. But a lot are in fact subconscious.
