DVF? (before Bloomingdales closes!)

Thanks to goldenpig and Dresslover, I have been mildly obsessed with trying out a DVF silk jersey wrap dress :-\

Pics 1-2: Wrap - I think I finally found one that I like the fit, print, and superb sale price. I hope it passes YLF muster.

Then Bloomingdales went and marked a bunch way down, so I quick ordered what I could to try. Are any of these worth keeping?

Pics 3-5: B&W - Can wear the attached sash above the waist or below.

Pic 6: Tunic - Fun silk jersey dress, but the static makes it fit like Saran wrap!

Pic 7: Shirt - I adore this one (static and all), but it's pretty big. I'm stalking a smaller size, but not holding my breath. Does the silky drape make this okay, or not?

On tonight's news, they just announced that Bloomingdales at the Mall of America is closing I better decide quick, so I don't have to ship returns back. . .

Cool DVF dresses! #3-5 is my favorite. Actually I got something sort of similar, a Tory Burch shirt dress with navy background and white hearts (almost the reverse of yours). They all look nice but the heart one is the standout on you!

OK, back to the dresses. The second one is my fave, but I also like the first one a lot.

So, what's going in where Bloomies is? I've actually never set foot in Bloomingdale's, thinking it was out of my league, price-wise, although I've probably missed some good sales.

I absolutely love the first two on you. I want to love #6 but the fit just doesn't look as flattering as I think it should. And #7 looks comfortably casual but something is not working for with it.

I like 1/2 the best. 3-5 seems overwhelming on you, as does #6. I also like #7.... if you can find it in a smaller size, it will be fabulous!

Kim - I am a little concerned about the frump potential of the B&W too, and I'm leaning away from the shirtdress.

I ADORE the first one on you. That's such a classic style and the fit looks divine. Color is great on you too. I like the second one second best, but I don't know if it's supposed to be a slouchy style or if it's too big. I will defer to the others. Pretty hair 'do, too!

I like the fit of the first dress the best on you- very nice! I love the print of the second dress, but it seems too big on you.
I like the style and fit of the third dress, but that pattern just overwhelms you.
The fourth one may be great if you can get it in a smaller size- hard to tell.

Don't you wish you could combine your favorite elements to make one perfect dress?

#1 is my favorite, although I really like 6, too. It's really dry here, so we get alot of static. I read somewhere to put a safety pin in the hem of something static and it attracts the electricity and gets rid of the problem. I've done that a few times with dresses/slips with that problem and it seems to go away. FWIW

#1 is a lovely color (into brown at the moment), and #2 is a fantastic print. I like both on you. I think #1 is more slimming, at least what I could see from the photo.

Oh boy, that is huge (and sad) news - Bloomingdale's closing??! I thought it was a shopping institution in the US. I guess it's a case of too many locations, not enough spendy shoppers?

Haha Sara, sorry for starting this obsession with DVF dresses, but you do look great in them! The first brown wrap dress is really pretty on you and the second dress is striking. Hopefully Dresslover will chime in as to whether it's too big up top or not.

I didn't end up getting a DVF dress after all...will have to wait till I'm off SYC and if I find a pattern that strikes my fancy. I ended up "rediscovering" an old Banana Republic wrap dress in my closet that works pretty well for me. Here's a pic of it (#6/7):

I really like 1 and 2, very classic and pretty. I would consider sizing down in 2 just to see the difference. It looks like there might be a little too much fabric.

The fist dress looks fabulous on you - perfect fit. I really like the dress in #3/5 but it looks a little big to me. I want to like #6 but I think that neckline could be very tricky - although I think the fit is very good on you. The last one just seems to kind of overwhelm you.

The longer B&W dress is also up there, but looking a bit too big?

I don't think I can get a smaller size It has a button inside the waist for the wrap and that felt pretty snug (even though I DO have a waist), so I figured this was probably the right size. Maybe I'm just too short for the drapey, Grecian vibe here?
What if it was shortened?

I'll probably be packing up the tunic and shirtdress for the return trip.

I like the style of #1 best, but am not entirely sold on the colour, Sara. Perhaps it looks better irl?

Fitwise I like the 1st one. Style I like #2, but it looks big on you on top. I love the funkiness (and fit) of #3. #4 doesn't do it for me because of the fit. If you find your size maybe.

The dress in #3-5 is my favorite...so flattering...especially with the sash tied higher on the waist. #1-2 fits you nicely and seems like a useful dress, but it's just not as exciting a pattern as the other...I think Angie has a point about the color not being the best for you. I really love #6, but if you feel it's too clingy you might feel too self-conscious to wear it.

Sadly, I think #7 is just too big. I would skip it.

I like the print in 6, but I love graphic prints so this really speaks to me.

Just a thought on the shipping.... I know lots of people hate to spend money on return shipping, but think about the time it will take you to get to the mall to do the actual return. For me this would entail either taking time off of work to get to the mall, dragging my toddlers along with me or paying a babysitter so I could run over there. Just thinking about bricks and mortar shopping and/or returning sends me into a tail spin. I would much rather just spend the $5.95 on return shipping, especially if I can get free one way shipping.

I like the style of #1 best! #2 looks like it's a bit big (especially around the bust). I want to like #6 (FAB print!) but yes I can see the static issues you mention #7 definitely looks too large to me.

(But what I REALLY really love are those awesome red heels!! The toe shape! The heel height! The heel shape! *swoon*)

The fit of the first one is fab. Can't really tell about the colour. I think the shirt dress would be amazing in the right size, too.

Another 'better late than never' on getting this wrapped up!

I will NOT be keeping the last two dresses, I will be keeping the first wrap one (and I DO think IRL the color and print are distinct enough to wear well -- on the drabber end of the colors, of course ;-), and holding off a bit longer on the second one. I might try pinning it up to see what happens when that volume isn't so long. . .

Aida - the shoes are some little Jessica Simpson suede pumps, and I love them too! They even worked well dancing for hours at a wedding!!
