DV Zurich booties K/R - YouLookFab Forum

I have one more pair of boots that need to be either returned (soon) or kept. I bought these on sale with the idea that it would be nice to have a pair of light-colored booties to wear with dresses and skirts (and maybe some lighter pants?) when it is too warm for tall boots. These are suede and very comfortable. The tights are clearly not the best color but these are the only light-colored tights I have. Any thoughts? If I keep them, what would be the best tights to pair them with? Nude microfishnets?

I tried them with a pencil skirt, too, but it did not work at all - I think I need to figure out if I have some light-colored tops for bookending.

Overall, I see a couple of potential problems with these - leg-shortening? and maybe too "sweet"? Perhaps I need to return these and find some fun pumps instead.

I see what you mean about leg shortening. But also are they quite loose around the top of the boot? It looks like they are too big there.

I think they are really cute and not overly "sweet".

really cute, try wearing with a scrunched sock, as they are a little loose around the opening at the top, then the color of tights is not so important, removed a step from the boot

I actually think these might work better with black tights. They are beautiful shoes, but I am not sure if the loose ankle is a problem. I would definitely try these with socks or legwarmers as suggested above.

Those are nice boots, but I think a little higher heel, and probably a little lower top, would work better with skirts and dresses. That dress is so pretty on you, and I like it with the lighter tights and the color of the boots.

From the front they look fab, not so sure about the side. You could fix it with a scrunched sock, but it would be limiting to have to do that all the time.

Generally I am a fan of lace up combat *or* granny booties but these are neither nor. I like 'em either tougher/chunkier, or else very fitted and lady-like. I'd keep looking, sorry if I sound harsh, trying to be helpful.

I have not had much success with boots, so I will defer to the others about fit. If you don't love them, I vote for some fun new pumps instead!

ETA: I love the dress on you!

I think there's just too much gap at the top. I like them in theory, though. Keep looking!

YAY to the boots! Nay to the white stockings. I am not a fan of light colored stockings. I think they aren't that flattering. How about nude sheers layered with microfishnets?

I still haven't ordered the microfishnets - they are on my wishlist at Nordstrom. I would definitely not wear these light-colored tights with either booties or pumps.

I think I might return the booties and start looking for pumps instead. Denise is right that the booties are neither very tough nor very fitted, and there is the gaping at the ankle, too. Now, what color pumps should I get? I have this dress and grey, purple and green Halogen skirts. I don't think there is any color that would go equally well with all of these, right?

Pumps are a total failure for me. I am wearing this dress with small heeled boots:

They are very comfy for heels.

If you give a mouse a cookie, he's going to want new shoes to go with that dress and don't forget new stockings and probably a new bag too...

What about black, espresso, taupe, gray or nude? I could see all of those with what you listed. (It's hard for me to tell the actual colors in the dress, whether the darker tones are black, brown, navy?) I think black or espresso would look especially nice, as they do the bookend thing with your hair color.

It's funny, I actually have the DV Jamison in lighter khaki color bookmarked on the Nordstrom website.

Since I do have two pairs of tall boots that work with this dress (brown and grey), I should probably just focus on finding shoes rather than booties (although new stockings and bag sound lovely too, Rita!).

I have two pairs of black flats, one pair of navy flats, and one in beige/black. I feel like I need to perhaps find some non-black shoes for spring/summer. I also don't have any heels (have heeled boots, heeled booties, heeled oxfords but no pumps). I don't do heels over 2.25" so that is going to be challenge, and I don't want to get open-toe sandals since I try to wear closed-toe shoes for work.

I think the darker colors (like espresso) would be better for bookending but lighter colors (like taupe) might bring more variety into my wardrobe. Hmm...
