Duplicating my wool sweater - which color?

I've just seen that Woolovers has a sale and also offers free shipping right now. So it would be a great time to duplicate one of my favourite winter pullovers (pic#1). I've been wearing it a ton!

I was wondering whether I should get the charcoal, which is the same as my BF cardigan (basically "my" black) or the purple, another color.

What do you think? Neutral or another color?

I vote purple, Astrid. It will look great with your colouring, and personally I like being able to incorporate a fun colour in my Spring outfits when it's still cold and grey outside. So I'm always happy to see cosy wool pullovers in a variety of colours

Mmh, I could always order both... They do another small markdown if you buy two. Or do you think three of them would be overkill? I'm just thinking that a well fitting comfortable "black" winter pullover might be useful...

Order both. You are allowed 3 wool pullovers if you wear them a lot an you can pay the bill. The one you have might get worn out first and then you'll have just 2. Besides, rotating the pullovers will make them all last longer.

If there is a money issue, buy the purple one.

Purple definitely, but maybe charcoal too...hmm. I have considered buying a third color of a favorite sweater this year myself, but haven't done it...yet. But my winters are short so I won't get a chance to wear it much. You wear yours quite a lot.

Thanks Harmonica - there's still some Christmas money left, so getting both wouldn't be a problem. The other pullover I've been wearing a lot is the one from Scotland which is light blue, so I thought a neutral would be good idea... And the color of the cardigan works well on me even though it's rather dark.

Thanks Texstyle. Yes, I've been wearing mine since October and probably will until early April or late March, depending on weather. Especially because it hasn't been super cold and the combination of wool pullover plus peacoat turns out to be just right to be comfortable.

Get them all and then decide. You deserve warm basics, cold weather is your dominant season. That purple is yummy, but the other colors are Useful.

Astrid - I just bought a wool peacoat too and I'm loving it already. So cozy and warm with just a sweater under it. We've been having a colder than usual winter so it's been easier to justify adding a few winter items.

Thanks Kiki - I think I'm going to order both. Although I don't want to order with returning in the back of my mind, I'd have to pay shipping and since I already have the same pullover in the green I know which size I need.

Texstyle, yes it's great isn't it? I love my wool layers in the city, even when it's rainy. I do have a rain jacket, but the combination of wool coat and umbrella is so much more comfortable. I like that it's breathing and you're not overheating.

Thanks Keturah! I actually think I don't have anything in this kind of purple right now, but I had some purple pieces in the past that I really loved.

I was thinking both as well. If you would wear a dark neutral sweater, I'd jump on your "black". Do you have any idea how many outfits you could make with each? Sometimes I sketch out combos to decide if an item is worth trying (a lot of options) or not (few options).

Thanks Alasse! I could wear both over jeans of course and with this plaid skirt. They're a bit too long to work well over my two flared skirts, they are best with pants or pencil or straight cut skirts. The charcoal might be nice to bookend my black boots...

I really find charcoal to be useful in the winter - I wear a lot of it. However the purple looks gorgeous. Sounds like you are going to order both. I'd hesitate about keeping three identical pullovers in various colours. I find that when I duplicate I still tend to favour one. Hopefully the right one will call your name when it arrives (or of course both ).

1st choice: PURPLE! If you don't think you would split wears, then get the charcoal as well.

Woolovers has a multibuy offer so that you don't have to buy the identical item in order to get the extra discount. So if you wear v necks, for example, you could get a v neck in charcoal and the purple crewneck. It just gives you a different look.
I just got a couple of polonecks from them yesterday, and I'm really happy with them, so I'm glad to hear they have worked for you too. I'm tempted to get a couple of extra things while the free shipping is on...

Thanks Jackie. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, because as you said, three colors of the same pullover... I also fear that I won't wear one enough to justify the purchase. Although I guess it's a pretty basic shape and I will be able to wear them for a long time. Or I could order one color in a different style - they also have them with a v neck and turtleneck.

Thanks Dimity! Seems like great minds think alike, I just wondered if I should order a different style for one of the colors. Although I'm generally not a big fan a normal v necks... although maybe for layering under? I already have a wool turtleneck in a blue cream melange that I almost never wear, so I'm not sure about the turtleneck.

I just placed the order and ordered only the purple crewneck. I figured I had some darker option already with the cardigan and I just wasn't quite comfortable with the same style in three colors. And I think I wouldn't wear the other neck styles as much. Now why was that so difficult?

Seriously, you might have split wears with both and if you aren't a fan of the other necks, then you probably made the right choice.

Yes, I agree. And I can always order the charcoal next fall, since it's one of their basic styles in a basic color. It's more sensible to put my money into items that transition better into spring right now.
