Duplicate silk pants? - YouLookFab Forum

Just recently I've started reaching for this pair of silk pull on pants from Grana constantly. They feel good on my skin, they're comfortable on the waist, no matter what, and the silhouette is very new for me, but I'm digging it.

I'm debating getting a second pair, in part because I'm afraid to hand wash them, so I'll be sending them out to the cleaners frequently, which is a pain.

I've also considered getting this pair, that are a little different in the waist.

I think part of my pause is color. I feel silly duplicating "boring" black pants, but I know if I have black and a color I'll reach for the black ones. If I did a color it would still be neutral, like navy or olive.

My other thought was to get a really nice pair, like these from Elizabeth Suzann. https://elizabethsuzann.com/co.....5823490438 Those would be a splurge, and a wait. They'd also be machine washable, which would settle down some of my issues.

I'm adding a few pictures of my current pants somewhat styled. I was taking them last night as I was trying to figure out what to wear to the State Fair. I was definitely trying to dress them down for the casual environment.

I'd go for an exact duplicate. If it ain't broke don't fix it. But that's just me: -)

I really like those on you, and am tempted myself. I think I'd get the navy if you'd duplicate, since it seems it would be as versatile as black, but that's just me.

I chose to duplicate my Eileen Fisher silk pants. I decided to buy one in midnight and one in black. I use both equally. I do hand wash them/hang to dry with no problems.

There times in life when duplication just makes sense. Perfect bottoms are one of those times.

I'd go ahead and get the same ones again. They look great and you know they work for you. They really do look good and you're wearing them constantly.

It's great the others are machine washable but something could still happen to them, would you want to duplicate them too or would you end up just being nervous and not wearing them as freely?

Well, birthday goggles struck, and I rationalized myself right into a pair of navy pants in the cut I already have, olive in the flat front, a blush tank and full skirt, as well as a beautiful ruby red camisole. Getting more silk into my wardrobe was my new year's resolution, so what can I say?

I'm going to try hand washing the navy pair a few times to make sure they hold up. If they do, I'll start hand washing my black pair, which should prolong their life.

Happy birthday, my bday twin! "Birthday goggles" made me laugh. I totally get them too. Not having to dry clean will save you so much, it's probably worth the experiment to try hand washing on a pair that's not such an essential part of your wardrobe. I can't wait to see you model all the new acquisitions. I've been wanting to add more silk, too. I've had my eye on some silk trousers and a lace-trimmed silk cami.

I don't need to buy anything right now, but I agree with you that silk is amazing fabric--comfy, warm, cool--it does it all, baby.

I like the "original" pants a lot, because of their simplicity.

I'd duplicate in black as you know that you reach for it. I hand wash silk but have not had any experiencecwith double layers like these pants. They look fab on you. All your stylings look great. Yes, to duplication. It sounds like you would miss them if you did not have them.

Yay - I thought I had posted the following yesterday, but never hit submit:

I duplicate too much, always in another color, and rarely find that the second gets as much love as the first. Weird scarcity mentality "wow this actually fits and I may never find anything like again!"

But your love of these pants shoes through and they really look great on you. Maybe if you duplicate you can risk a gentle hand wash on one pair?
