Duo boots

Thistle

Anyone here ordered Duo boots? I am nervous shipping them across the big pond with no free returns. And they are pricey. But, they might solve my ankle to calf ratio issue.

I am thinking of engaging their customer service with my measurements and see what they come back with.

I know Alison has recommended them on her blog Wardrobe Oxygen, but just wondering if anyone here has had any luck.

I have been SO tempted to order from them, Thistle! I've been hesitant because my narrow feet can be hard to fit as well as my narrow calves. But apparently they're great at working it out with you if the fit isn't perfect. I'll be curious to hear about your experience if you decide to order from them.

I know someone in real life who bought them when they were visiting the UK. In fact she might have two pairs. She raves about them. I think a long time ago someone on forum bought them and had a positive experience.

I've been tempted too. However, did you see that they categorize their styles as wide ankle, standard ankle, and slim ankle fits? I'm pretty sure I'd need the slim ankle fit, and none of the styles I liked have it. I've been meaning to write them and ask about exact measurements for the different ankle fits and whether or not they scale with foot or calf size.

ETA: I've come to realize that my problem is not that I have borderline wide calves (which are pretty easy to fit these days, although that wasn't true 10 years ago), it's that I have ridiculously small ankles. And nobody customizes their ankle fits.

I have, and I had to return my pair as the ankle fit was too awkward. The quality of the boots themselves is lovely and well worth it. HOWEVER, beware shipping - I had to pay nearly $60 to ship back and was that ever a lesson to me. And that was with them making special accommodations for me after I called them nearly hysterical.

I love them Thistle but I got to try them on in Edinburgh and they just sent them home to DH direct from the store so I didn't have to lug them round. Yes I would talk to them - they have been beyond helpful for me and as Una said, the quality really is lovely!

I am in the US, so the return shipping would be brutal. Hmmmm, not sure I am willing to take a $60 risk on $300+ boots.

I keep looking at them, because my Frye Adriennes will eventually no longer be able to be cobblered (I've had to replace the zipper on each boot already), and the Olsons look like they'd make a good replacement. But that return shipping is SCARY, for sure!

I've been also looking at them for a while, but haven't tried them so far because of the price. And for me shipping and returns aren't even a problem, I think I'd be even more hesitant if returning would be so expensive!

I think I will wait on them. I might sign up for their e-mails and see if they ever run a free shipping and free returns. I am even more hesitant after hearing Una's experience. I mean, she even went through their customer service to pick it out.

I will just keep waiting. Eventually I will find a pair through Zappos or Nordies.
