Duo boots - experiences? How's the quality?

I've been searching again for some dressier boots the last few weeks and had big problems with fit because I have wide feet.

I've looked at the Duo boots site from time to time since they were mentioned somewhere, but never ordered anything because they are so expensive. And It's too bad that they only sell their shoes and booties in different widths, not the boots. The only thing you can change with the boots is calf circumference.

The only booties that I could see myself in are these:

Not sure if they would work on me though, I fear I'd end up looking stumpy.

I also love these boots, but they might be too narrow and the heels are a bit higher than what I'm used to. And they are quite expensive!

I've already read that the fit is good with these if you normally have problems with fitting your calves (obviously), but how do they hold up? If I spend this much on boots I'd need them to hold up for a long time. And they would get much wear! Thoughts?

I know nothing about their fit or longevity. Just chiming in to say, both pairs of booties would look great with your style! (Euro Prairie?)

I ordered a pair and the quality was great, as well as the customer service. Try them if you can. The leather is good and the measurements were correct.

All I know about Duo is what Allie at the Wardrobe Oxygen blog has posted about them, as I haven't gotten the guts up to try ordering custom boots from overseas. I bet if you search you can find her various experiences.

As for the boots, I'm a flat shoe girl and my tall boots have heels like that. They are my go-to, everyday winter shoe. I was a bit doubtful when I saw them in the store but they have proved to be the perfect heel for me. They are actually more comfortable than many of my flat shoes.

Thanks Irene! I guess you're right and the heel height could work out, they are sturdy enough.

I have a pair of Duo boots which I've had now for over 8 years - still going strong, and I still get lots of compliments about them, so I would definitely order again. I am in the UK though, which does make it easier as I am not ordering overseas.

I have one foot which is slightly wider than 'average' and I find my boots very comfortable, even when I'm wearing socks.

Thanks BL, that sounds promising! The shipping and returns are free from what I've seen, so that's not an obstacle. I won't place an order right now, but I'm going to keep them on my list. It sound like they are definitely worth a try!
