Dumb question...but what would you wear these shoes with?

I am considering these shoes, I like the heel height and the sort of menswear vibe. I know it sounds like a dumb question but what kind of pants would I wear these with. I own no booties or anything in this range, so that's why I ask, I don't really have much experience dressing them. They are not as high as booties really, so that's why I'm a bit unsure on their use. Would they work well with skinny jean, slim trousers, wider trouser, boot leg jeans, skirts, shorts? They have an adjustable ankle strap, so I could make them more tight or loose as needed. Also, an preference on the 2 colors there?

I think these would go well with skinnies the most, but I can see them with skirts and dresses as well. I like both colors, so I think it would depend on what you have in your closet and which pair would get the most wear.

I love the grey - but if you live in a wet climate they may not be as practical. I think these would work with skinny pants or with a slightly straighter cut too, not sure about wider trousers, I'll be interested to hear what others think.

They would work well with skinny or straight-leg pants. They could look pretty good with a casual skirt or dress too, I think. It depends on your style.

As for colour, well, that really depends on you, your hair colour, your wardrobe and its holes, and so on.

I always think of these in my own mind as "Peter Pan" boots.

I think they would look good with skinnies, legging jeans, and especially with leggings and tunics. They might work with a casual skirt and tights, too. A shorter skirt, probably....or the cool shorts you had to return....

Love the boots! However, I have been struggling with this cut of boot. My skinnies are too skinny to go over the booties but too thick to go inside them.

Good luck - I prefer the black because they are more practical for damp west coast weather,

I think you could wear them in multiples ways. I have three pairs of their shoes, very comfortable and walkable.

I would wear these with skinnies tucked in, with straight legs untucked (provided the straight legs fit over the boot opening). I'd even wear them with boot-cut jeans, provided they were hemmed for flats. Given that these boots are adjustable - I might (if I were daring) also wear them with skirts, sans hose, while the weather isn't frigid. In winter, I'd add some sort of hose, something that blended in (colour-wise) with the boot colour so as to lengthen the leg line, ie. slightly sheer-ish black hose with the black version of these boots, and slightly sheer-ish grey hose with the grey boots.

Meanwhile, I think you could also consider wearing these types of boots with "winter shorts" - something a bit tweedy-y and slouchy - if that's part of your style (I'm thinking that Aida has some beautiful WIW's with fab winter shorts that might work for you with these boots).

Also - how about some slouch-y, menswear-inspired pants? Slightly tapered at the bottoms, but with a tiny bit of 'scrunch' at the hem, a la Angie?

I really like Angie's menswear-inspired, slightly slouchy (but still structured) trousers look with her flat boots.

The boots you've posted seem somewhat similar in shape, and I think Angie's "Semi- Structured Trouser Look" is a great way to wear these types of flat, short boots ...other than jeans or skinnies all the time.

I think you have a lot of options with flat boots like these.

Skinnies, shorts, skirts. Really cute!

ETA, I think due to the wide opening and the short length you might go bananas trying to wear pants over them, so if that is what you want, I would pass.

Slim trouser would be my pick -- with a razor sharp crease. I like the idea of a skinny jean too but not as much. I like playing with menswear inspired pieces so I am a little biased.

Good, so skinnies would work well, which would be my main choice. I think they could go well with shorts too. I am loving the grey pair...but our cold, wet winters would probably not go with them too well.
