Dumb question - those with nude shoes; how do you wear them?

I have been eyeing nude shoes for some time now. I have my Lucky Abeo platform wedges but they're not exactly nude. I'm drawn to pinky nude sandals again and again, but how the heck would I actually wear them? I know I would not wear pumps, although I have been quite enamored of them, watching MaryK and Amyreh don theirs with panache. So, should I just sit this one out and admire from the sidelines? (and for all you SYC'ers, I would only do this if I earned eBay cash to cover it!)

I've been wearing mine all summer with almost everything. I don't try to match them to anything. They are key to making my outfits work, especially any potentially leg shortening styles like midi's, crops or clams. They are great with dresses.

I plan to wear mine with pretty much everything. I had them on today and held up all of my dressier dresses and they made every single one of them look fab.

For me they required a bit of thought at first because of my long dark hair, but I've found them very versatile. I count my dove gray patent pumps and pinky-nude strappy sandals my nude shoes. I've been using them to keep outfits that have no dark elements light overall, in addition to pairing with dresses/skirts to elongate legs and keep things more summery looking. I also like them with skinnies for some leg vavoom

nude is supposed to go with everything. I know how you feel though because I have a pair of nude shoes and when I tried to wear them with dark color capris it just looked wrong to me because I usually would wear black or dark shoes with dark buttoms. Still playing around with it.

I suppose I should ask you all how these Tsubos would differ, outfit wise, from my Lucky's I have already, other than that they would be a lot easier to walk in haha!! I guess, to echo Queen Mum's concerns, do I need them? Or will the Lucky's do?

I think mine (flat oxfords) go with everything! I particularly like them for days when I am wearing something potentially leg-shortening like clams but I don't want to wear heels. My nude-ish Frye Carson shorties are also actually easier to wear than my darker ankle boots, because, again, they are not so shortening.

I think the key is to get a nude that matches your skin tone somewhat well ... so, since I have golden toned skin I always look for warmer nudes rather than pink or ashy nudes.

Malina, I think just like Kim's query in the other thread: the Lucky have a more casual vibe and the Tsubos seem dressier. So you could wear the Lucky with boyfriend shorts and casual frocks, etc and the Tsubos could be worn with a nicer outfit for dinner, party, wedding, etc.

Those Luckys are gorgeous! That colour would be nude for me.

I wear nude wedges when I am barelegged and leg-lengthening matters (to balance a hem length or just to look extra awesome!).

I did think they had to be the same tone (ish) as your skin, but I saw JK Rowling wearing some beigey/tan-toned ones even though her skin is more pinkish, and she looked fantastic. (I was very moved by the interview as well!)

I wear mine when I'm doing something colorful or printed, ie my recent DVF riot color dress that I wore to the opera.

The Tsubos don't actually look "nude" to me on you, thought they look great and are very cute. I think the rosey/pinkish ones would blend in with your skin tone better and be more "nude". To me it's the difference of being neutral (goes with anything) to be nude ( blends with skin). I say if you get the e bay cash then go for it, you can wear them with anything.

I wear mine (4-inch heeled platform pumps) with skirts, dresses, and jeans. I like the lighter feel they bring to an outfit in the spring and summer. They will probably get less use from me in the fall when I like the heavier feel of a black shoe.

Mo, I love the Tsubo sandals! I don't have nude shoes but they are on my list for summer. I think they are incredibly versatile and can be worn with so many styles and colours. I also love the leg lengthening factor.

I am thinking that because I have plenty of sandals and am heading toward fall/winter soon, I will admire this from afar. Who knows? Maybe I'll find an awesome pair of nude/taupe booties instead this fall!

Maybe I can convince you? I wear mine ALL. THE. TIME. I have pumps and sandals.
This is just a recent collection, but I wear these more than any other color of shoe (black is a close second, of course).

Thanks for the pics! I actually really like the look of the toe on the pumps - but I know they have no place in my life!! I have one pair of gray pumps unworn but 'just in case' in my closet right now. For over a year now But I am really warming up to the idea of a shootie or bootie!

Mo, the Tsubos look dressier to me because of the covered heel and open-ness of the design. In my head, they would be a good choice of a nude office sandal, but I know you don't do offices.

I think the idea of possibly getting nude boots or booties is a good one.

I am just learning to wear mine. Here's how I do it: in any situation where I'd naturally pick another shoe (usually black), I try the nude pumps. If they work, I wear them. My outfit today is a good example. I couldn't figure out what shoe to wear, and then I realized I could try the nude.

You have to make a conscious effort, but after a while, you will find it easier. Your wardrobe and climate are well suited for nude shoes, Mo!

Timely post because I often wonder the same thing. I have been wearing my tan sandals (I did a post about them) with more outfits recently, but I still hesitate to wear them with black skirts. I think a more nude shoe like the ones Sarah posted might work well with a black bottom, but my sandals are more of a tan color. Or maybe I just need to re-train my eye.

If anyone has photos of themselves wearing a black skirt (or ankle/cropped pants) with nude or tan shoes, I would love to see how the look works. I have quite few black bottoms and I would love to learn how to make them more summer-ready using lighter colored shoes.

Devon here are some outfits (1-3) of mine with black skinnies and my dove gray heels (which, kind of sadly, are a nude for me).

And Mo, I have a pair of bone booties which are pretty much nude for me (4-5). I don't reach for them as often as I thought I would, but I really should. I think you could work them a lot better than me since your hair is much lighter
