Driving to L. A.

Ok. Driving down to LA with my mum and Cormac the dog to see my brother IN THE RAIN. I have only the vaguest notion that we have tickets for something at a museum. I will be carrying dog food and a tv sound bar besides. So what should I wear? I mean ostensibly a museum means I can be cute, but then snow actually fell in the city. It is cold and miserable. So everything has to go with these shoes:

The storm system that's coming through right now is tropical, so it's supposedly warmer than the last one. That means mostly highs in the 60s instead of the 50s.

Wear leggings with your boots and a cute skirt or dress outfit?

Rain boots are a good idea, Rachy!

I echo Jenn about the dress and skirt idea. If they have black in them, they will work with the boots. Bring puffy too!

Cormac doesn’t have a raincoat yet. We’ve had drought so long, it never crossed my mind. I’m trying to make him stand now so I can measure him, lol

I had to laugh, rachylou, at this "snow actually fell in the city. It is cold and miserable. So everything has to go with these shoes". YUP! The struggle is real.

The boots are skirt are great! I'd be ready with a lighter weight raincoat as well as a puffer. Sounds like the lighter one is likely a good call, but I would hedge my bets to avoid being too cold or too hot. Have a fun trip!

My first thought: "In the RAIN? But listening to the weather it sounds like it's going to ease off for now. Going on 5 or 101? Just make sure you are driving outfit is something comfortable. I don't even remember owning boots when we lived in LA, but I do remember rain.

Have a fun trip. From what I can tell it will be warmer there than in the Bay area.

How will your Mom do? Will she need to stop more frequently? I find as I am older now I can only stand to sit in a car for about 1 1/2 hours before I need to stop and just get out and walk around a bit.

Ohmigosh, Ms Maven, my mom is the most driven traveler. I’m grateful for the dog. Cormac is MY excuse to stop every two hours, lol! She certainly wouldn’t make stops for my sake, haha

Oh, more love for the skirt! How long is the drive? I get in a car on average once a week for a grocery shopping, long distance driving is an extreme adventure to me! I also can’t sit in a car for more than 2 hours.

It’s maybe 6 hours with breaks. 8 with traffic!
