Carter, I wouldn't say you are out of sync with the trends. Personally, I cannot tell the difference between a loafer (currently IN) and a driving moc. Except perhaps a true driving moc has no need for a sole that will withstand lots of outdoor walking, since it's "supposed" to be for driving only?
As for your shoes, to me they read more loafer than moc so they are totally on trend.
I am, of course, not the best judge of such things as often subtleties go swoosh over my head.
