Eek. I’m at the mall returning something I got for Christmas and tried on this dress at WHBM. It’s not a need, but it does tick off some boxes for a dress (sleeves, knee length). I think the stripes are flattering, and it could work for several different occasions in my life. However, I wasn’t planning to get anything today but got to flipping through the sale rack.

What do you think??

It's nice but the only thing I'm not sure about is the belt. Did you add that or is it a removable belt that comes with it? The chevron already draw attention to your waist - I feel like the belt gets lost in the busy pattern. What do you think?

Chevron stripes are very flattering. Fit looks excellent. It also appears comfortable, but do a sit-test, too. What boxes does it tick for you? Where are you planning to wear it? Do you have a coat to wear with it (if a coat is ever ever needed, which is probably isn't for more than a few days a year for you, sigh...)

The dress comes with the belt I don’t have it looped in the pic. Belts can be tricky with the loops cause they’re usually too high.

Suz - I am looking for more modest dresses for things like church and travel. You’re right, I’d never need a topper over this here. Also an event like a business meeting.

It looks like a great fit but it has a work-wear look, to my eye. Yes, it could potentially work for a funeral. For church, it would be nice to see you in colour.

The fit is excellent. Will you be sad if you leave it behind? I always ask myself that. You mention though that it fills several needs for you.

Oh I think this is great on you - and I like the belt too and where it's sitting on you seems to work great!

(By the way, you can always snip off those belt loops and shift the belt to where it needs to go, no need to be tied to the way the manufacture says it should sit!)

I really like the dress on you - the fit is very good in the pictures and it suits you perfectly! Excellent dress for business meetings, travel, lunches etc. The belt looks fine and it will probably be very nice without it as well.

I think it's nice but not wow. You're very pretty and may not feel you need wow, does it spark joy? I think it depends on size of your wardrobe, do you have not quite enough, a bit too much, etc etc. it looks like a work dress to me.

Thanks for the feedback. I can think of at least two occasions this year where this dress would have been useful to have in the closet. I like it, but don’t love it. I will still be looking for other dresses that will work for travel and my everyday life. For those times, I would like more color. This year my main goal was finding short sleeve tops and summer clothing. My 2018 goal is summer dresses and non jean bottoms that can see me through my casual hot lifestyle.

That all said, it was $24 and I did purchase it.

Sounds worth it for $24. Sure, sticklers would say that's $24 you could have spent on something else... but to get it under $5 CPW which is my personal aim ( I know some aim lower like $1 but that's difficult in Australia and New Zealand where we pay more for our clothes, smaller population and all that) you'd only have to wear it 5 times, should be easy enough!

Jenni - I have a business memorial luncheon next month and this strikes just the right note I was looking for.

I tried it on again at home, and do find it very flattering. It makes me feel good, and I know it will find enough wear to be worth purchasing.

For $24 it is a steal considering it fills several holes. Looks great on you in a modest setting.

I just bought this same dress! I had been stalking it online, but by the time the price got low enough it was sold out in my size. I stopped in the store today to try on something else and they had my size on the clearance rack! My husband was with me, and loved the dress but hated the belt.
