Dressing my body type

I am needing some help. From my research, I am an inverted triangle. My measurements are shoulders 40, bust 31, waist 27, hips 36. The issue is I have narrow hips but a big bubble butt. That is where my measurements come from with the hips. I am wondering if the recommendations for the inverted triangle clothing style is still going to apply if I have this bubble butt. Please let me know if you have any recommendations!

Your measurements sound like an hourglass with a strong shoulder line. Or a straighter hourglass with a strong shoulder line.

You would probably look good in drapey, form-fitting dresses. Or great, quality classic jeans, like Levis. Athleisure stuff...and I bet you could wear both inverted triangle recommendations and hourglass recommendations.

I am older and once had a big butt. One day it was gone as gravity had taken it. Enjoy while you can. It may disappear as you get older. Shoulder pads...leave that trend to others. They are hard on a strong shoulder. Or keep them very small to balance your hips.

Inverted triangle recommendations will still apply -- with modifications. That is, not every pant or jean style will work on you because you will need extra room in the rear. How high is your rise (crotch point to waist). Check pants to see they have a high enough rise in the BACK for your generous bottom. You may be able to go high, medium, or even low in the front, providing there is enough room in the back. So you're looking for a rise that is longer in back than in front. (I think).

Apart from that -- if you are seeking to balance your figure (although there is absolutely no reason to!) you will probably avoid puffed sleeves , shoulder pads, etc. You may instead want to highlight your square shoulder line! Big shoulders are in!

That's my shape!
Sleeveless tops are easiest by far, with higher necklines. Set in sleeves- not dropped shoulder. Short sleeves ending at the bust are not my friend. All the extreme shoulder detail- both sharp and puffy- Nope.

Re: the bum. Skirts and dresses are a million times easier than pants. Tube skirts work cause they taper, especially long ones. Look for skirts that puff out at the bum when laying flat- otherwise they will do a little ducktail at the hem :/ Skirts that drape, not stiff fabric if flared.
Big yes to high back rises. I personally need 4-5 inches more in back than front. Guess what- they don't exist in button/zip pants. I've never seen more than 3 inch difference. Hi rise pull ons for me- wide legs are my friend.
