I suspected I wasn't alone and I was right about that. Thanks so much for sharing. Definitely some ideas here that I hadn't thought of.
Lucy I have had my share of dressing in the family room! I do it for preference in winter anyway, because that is w (here the heater is. (Our lounge has a door and windown on to the street, so not so ideal!)

Deborah What does your DH do avoiding disturb you? I am usually the first one up, but yesterday, before I began the thread, DH was. I was particularly annoyed by turning the light on (even dimmed) and sitting down on the bed several times to put socks and shoes on, both things I try to avoid. I know his sleep does suffer even so.
Alexandra Interesting solution. I do occasionally sleep on the couch but usually it is either extremely hot and I can't cope with additional body heat, or I have a bad cough. I sometimes say that sleep cycle discrepancy is the biggest problem in our marriage - but we have a great marriage so that isn't saying it is a big problem.
Joy and everyone else who lays clothes out/ puts it in the ensuite. - I do admire that, but don't manage it that often. The problem is that often at night I'm way too tired to think. My workout clothes are often in the ensuite anyway though, as I dry them out there.
LisaP what you wrote resonated with me the most! "also taken the interest out of puttering around in my closet and looking at stuff - because I can't do it until later in the day when the time isn't right. " Yes, absolutely!! Also to just pulling something, anything on in the morning! Your discrepancy is way worse than mine though! At least I get to see my husband in the early evening.

Lyn D - I have gone out with only 1 earring!
BC - a closet off the bathroom is what I'd love. I like your flashlight idea too. My FIL loves torches (as we call them in Aus) and is always bring them out where I wouldn't have thought of them. Great idea.
Cindy - sensible idea for your new little house.
