Dressing for the corporate Christmas party eta: party pic in comments

My husband's company throws a huge dressy Christmas party for employees and their entire families. The party is tonight and I'm planning to wear the dress I bought for a family wedding a year ago. I kept it simple with rhinestone and pearl earrings, silver shoes, silver watch and my platinum wedding rings. It was fun to accidentally match color and style with my cousin, mother of the groom.

For tonight's festivities I'm planning to wear burgundy patent pumps and nude micro fishnets. I'm considering my grandmother's pale green crystal necklace, (the one in the photo is similar) to add a touch of green to the red, or maybe a clear crystal beaded necklace, or pearls similar to the ones I've shown.

What do you think would be best?

Zibbets I wouldn't wear the earrings if they are pinchy ("corporate Christmas party " sounds like enough discomfort for one evening but hey that's me). I am experimenting with wearing clip earrings as shoe clips though I fear the effect of the clips on patent leather. I'd wear a pair of silver or gold dangles.

I get the green concept, and I like vintage/ fun jewelry, but the multi-strand pearls look more formal/ dressy.
Have you done the mirror test? Sometimes just seeing them on gives me an aha moment.

I like the green, and the idea of a non-cloying version of the season’s colors, but really, it depends on how they look with the dress.

Thank you so much for all the kind words and wisdom about the necklaces! Unfrumped was right: the mirror test was the deciding factor, especially when I added my darling departed MIL's needlepoint christmas clutch. I liked the white background with the pearls, and the look of my red manicure with the bag made me happy.

We felt fabulous! Here's final pic with my two DDs. We had lots of fun putting together their accessories too, DD1's dress doesn't really need "more" but fun tights are fun! DD2's red leather backpack and enameled double decker bus are two of her favorites. DH was decked for the season in red, and looked fab.
