My department is sending us for a little 3-day science retreat next week.. It is very much like an internal conference. I will not be presenting anything, just meeting people. We will be all staying in the same isolated little hotel.

I am trying to decide what is the appropriate level of formality for this event. It is going to be warm, but AC is strong inside. It is going to be probably a bit more dressy than usual super casual lab wear, but just a little, especially since I am not presenting. So some kind of smart casual will most likely be appropriate. So maybe some version of woven top and trouser jeans? I really hate trying to figure these things out, with all the constraints of looking like you made a little effort, but not too much of it.
