I need your ideas for what to wear one day next week. On Wednesday, my husband is getting his first tattoo...and we also have tickets to Les Mis. I need something appropriate for spending a few hours at the studio supporting him, and then going out to dinner and to the performing arts center for the show.

Attire more or less spans the spectrum for arts events here, but I prefer to be at least a bit dressier than average. I won’t be able to go home in between, but will be able to throw a change of topper and/or shoes in the car.

What would you wear?

What a fun day. The way I see it is that you’ll be a patron of the arts times 2! I’d go arty if it were me. Maybe all black (I love all black as a summer look) with great jewelry, interesting shoes and maybe a silk scarf. Have fun!

Omg, I hope we get to see the tattoo (either the inspo or the final ink)! I'd go for a pretty frock and a moto, I think, and maybe bring a shawl for the theatre if the jacket feels too tough or too casual.

I should add that the temp will be in the upper 80s, ranging down to the upper 60s/low 70s by the the time the show lets out, and we’ll probably be doing at least a bit of city walking.

Jenn, my first thought was your EF rust linen if you kept it, with a denim jacket or rust scarf/ wrap for warmth if needed. Are you getting any recent rain? We went to CU's Shakespere festival on Sunday and got rained out.

Joy, I think I might feel a little casual in the linen, especially after it wrinkled up from the car. This is at the Buell in Denver, so about an hour’s drive.

We have been getting rain on and off. Just had a crazy hailstorm this evening!

I vote simple dress by day and add lots of jewelry, interesting bag and scarf for cool evening event. Have fun.

LBD w cognac sandals and purse for tattooing, switch to dressy sandals, clutch and add kimono topper for Le Mis?

Suntiger, we are definitely on the same wavelength. I took these pics yesterday. Wore the kimono as a belt in the first pic, and thought I might change into black ankle strap heels with the second.

You know what’s amazing? As small as my wardrobe is, I could still do just about any of these suggestions with what I currently own. Makes me feel so good!
