I was really inspired by Momo's methodical closet culling posts. My current wardrobe is about twice the size I prefer it to be, and I also need to tease out a capsule for 10 days in Hawaii.

I'm starting with the dresses, but I hope to make it through bottoms, tshirts, blouses, and toppers this week.

Nothing here is styled except one dress that I might love the print of more than the shape loves me, so I threw on a jacket to sway you. I generally wear a topper of some sort with dresses, this my penchant for sleeveless.

Likes? Dislikes? Suggestions?

I like 1, 6, 10 and 12 best! I think 2 and 4 would join that list once styled. 1,2 and 4 look like great choices for Hawaii.

#5 is my BEST, followed by #9 and #10.

#1, 6, 12 and #13 are good for really casual, hot days.

And I am intrigued by #16. Could be great in the Fall with boots.

That is really helpful, Angie and Carter. I can see the similarities in the dresses you each are drawn to and that helps sort things. I think Angie called out the most form fitting of the lot. I need to absorb that.

#16 gets bonus points because the fabric is the most sumptuous silk. It feels so good it's worth a little work.

My faves are 5,6 and 7, and I also rather like 18.

10 is my favorite, then 7-9 -- I'm basing on fit and neckline, not colors or fabrication.

I'm not wild about 2, 3, or 4, but maybe styling would sway them? The straps on 3 look like it may not be the easiest thing to work with unless you layer a tee underneath.

Love the print on 5 but I'm a sucker for houndstooth.

I prefer the length of 18 over 17.

Least favorites are 3, 8, and 9.

Are you looking to get rid of some of these? And, if so, which ones do you wear/not wear regularly?

I'm back to add that it's really interesting to just look over the thumbnails. Seeing them all together and small like that, you can see exactly what each dress does for your body shape. It makes me want to photograph all my outfits in silhouette!

Janet, I do layer a tee or tank under #3 when I wear it. I was being lazy here.

Jenn, I find the thumbnails so helpful. It's like it helps cut down on my emotional reactions to a certain item and just hone in on the overall shape impression it gives.

I am looking to trim down the field a little bit. The biggest losers I'll get rid of, but then I'll move some into my "not right now" storage area to see how I feel about them later. I like to keep a working wardrobe of around 75 items because otherwise I get overwhelmed or lose track of items. My closet is too full right now, so I want to cut everything in half.

Of these, I wear #2, 3 and 13 the most, but #1 is new and 5-12 as well as 14 and 16 all just came out of deep storage because they didn't fit for a few years. Now that I fit back into them I need to edit, but my eye isn't adjusted to my changing shape yet, so I need some perspective.

Rachy, spanner opinions appreciated!

I may have made 2 steps forward and one step back here. Trying on 14 and 16 reminded me how much I love 14. It's from a Target designer collaboration, with the brand Tucker and made of a terrible feeling poly. I also remembered how much I love the feel of the 100% silk fabric in 16. One thing led to another and the next thing you know I'm ebaying a silk dress by Tucker. If it works out as planned the new dress will let me release the other two dresses. Hrrrm...

4,8,11,12,13,16 and 17 moved into storage.

I also recognized that although I've fought the idea that vneck is the most flattering neckline for me for years, it's true.

Now I'm on the hunt for a perfect LBD. I thought I had that covered, but I don't.

Yes, I like the same ones as Angie! 5, 9, 10 (and 3) with 5 looking the absolute best!

In these photos, some of these strike as beach coverups more than dresses: 1, 7, 11, and 18. (Is 18 the same as 17? I prefer the shorter length).

I think you could let go of 13, 14, and 16.

1, 8, 10, and 16. Some of the others are just too shapeless or flimsy looking to do you justice.

I could see 1 and 10 enjoying some vacation time in Hawaii. It's difficult to see yourself actually there when you're still here. If you look at the ok dresses Viva was considering versus the totally fantastic one she bought on vacation..

I think you need some new dresses for warm weather with a little more color and maybe some print?

3,5 8, 10 and 16 are my faves. I like you in the sleeveless and something with a little structure. And I do like the dress that you popped a jacket over too. It's really nice.

The funny thing about #4 is its a duplicate of #2, but the hanger was mislabeled and I decided it was fine anyway rather than returning it. Looking at it here I recognize it wasn't fine. Rolling my eyes at myself.
