Since everyone seems to have had a big kick out of the Name Your Style thread, I thought I would throw out a challenge that incorporates that. I saw the germ of an idea on a blog a couple weeks ago and have been waiting for the right moment to link it here; I think it would be an excellent exercise for all of us!

Challenge: Put on a pair of jeans, a t-shirt/simple top, and shoes (flats or heels, your preference). Then add whatever you want to need to mold the outfit into your own style. Show us why the words you selected ARE your style, how you make those concepts come to life while using the same base as everyone else.

Post the photo on this thread, and please include the 3 words you selected for yourself!

Kristen, when I saw "MLF," my first thought was that the site would be named "Me Look Fab." Hehe.

This is an interesting challenge. I have been having such trouble naming "my" style -- maybe the best way to figure it out is just to create an outfit and then describe it.

Oh, I LOVE this idea! I've been mulling over the Name Your Style Thread & I think this will help me come up with something. GREAT idea Kristin, can't wait to see what everyone posts - especially like the idea of everyone doing it with a basic base!!

Now that we've been putting a name to our style, let's see it in action! I have a few ideas for mine, and I'm off work tomorrow so I can actually WEAR jeans...

I would have said post them here as a group, but now that the other thread is 70+ entries long, I am afraid Angie would have apoplexy!

Smaller threads will be much easier, methinks. Make sure you call it "Dress Your Style: [your name]" in the subject line, and we'll be good to go! I will collect all links into one larger post once it gets going.

Angie, will that work? If so, I'll edit the instructions in this post.

April, if you want to do your future style, go for it. They aren't really any restrictions on the challenge except to start with your base outfit and your 3 words.

Kristen, This *will* be a challenge and I love the idea!! Unfortunately, I have to make a most unexpected trip to India (leaving tomorrow) to see my grandma who is not doing too well. I will be gone until the 31 so will try to post that weekend, if I can. Will that be ok? I will be following everybody's threads though! Good luck ladies

I'll try to post this weekend... with the other challenge outfit that I owe to JewelryGirl. I actually had a few outfits I wore to my meetings that fit the challenge, but I didn't have the time to photograph them.

I can't edit this post anymore (I think because it's over 24 hours old), but to recap, the rules of the challenge are:

2. Then add whatever you want to need to mold the outfit into your own style. Show us why the words you selected ARE your style, how you make those concepts come to life while using the same base as everyone else.
3. Include the 3 words you selected in the Name Your Style thread. You can do your current or your future style.
4. Start a new post with your photo and your words. Make sure you call it "Dress Your Style: [your name]" in the subject line.

Here's the real challege: leave it brief! The idea is to pick the adjectives and let them do the work for you -- and the same goes for the photo. Let your outfit do the talking!
